I installed the Cornfed Suspension front recovery points on my Tacoma this past weekend and wanted to share some first impressions.
Build Quality:
These are very well made. The steel is solid, welds are clean, and the powder coat finish looks durable. Nothing about them feels rushed or cheap...
Awesome! That makes sense. Since I already ordered the 399 kit from rigid I’m outta luck there. I do have a 24 so at least I have that going for me. Which of these connector options is the correct one for the rigid?
So I just ordered the lights from Rigid for the ARB bumper…and then I saw this thread. With what I’ll be receiving, am I correct in that they will function as reverse lights only? Not as running lights? I read through the thread, but I’m still unsure as to if rigid corrected the wiring harness...
Here’s a probably dumb question. Anyone know the size of the nuts on the battery? I’m wanting to add lock washers and wing nuts to secure my power, but I haven’t a clue what size they are.
I got it taken care of at the dealership a couple of weeks ago. I was there for my 5K maintenance, and they said they could take care of it while it was there. Quite painless.
Yes, it’s the MXT575. It fit fine and doesn’t seem like there will be any heat issues (depending on how much you’re transmitting.
I have the console tray from Muslogy in there still without any fitment issues.
Alright, I got everything routed and wired up.
I ended up installing the CaliRaised dash mount with a magnetic midland radio holder. When not in use, I’ll either disconnect the mic or move it to the side pocket area near the passenger side molle.
Yeah, the one I received is just the black plastic and connector..no label of any kind from what I saw. I’ll double check when I get home. I haven’t installed it yet.
Did your RJ45 pass through come with wires for power? Mine did and I’ve never seen a pass through that needed to be wired for power before. If yours did, does it actually need to be powered?
Gotcha. I found a mount for the mic that fits on the CaliRaised dash mount. I’m thinking about using that and leaving the mic plugged in. Only reason for leaving the mic plugged in is that I haven’t found a solution that I like for covering the jack when its unplugged and I’m concerned about...
That’s an awesome setup!
I just picked up a MXT575, and I think I’m going to do something similar.
How/where did you mount the clip for the mic? It looks like you have it on the grab bar maybe?
