New to radios, so went with handheld. Designed and 3D printed a bracket and holder so that it was easy to remove. Added some foam and so far its been rattle free.Have any of you mounted a radio to the faux-molle paneling that's just below the grab-handle in the center console? I'd love to mount it without drilling if at all possible.
Care to share the files for printing. That's awesome!New to radios, so went with handheld. Designed and 3D printed a bracket and holder so that it was easy to remove. Added some foam and so far its been rattle free.

Absolutely, they are native Autodesk Inventor, but I'll get some step files made.Care to share the files for printing. That's awesome!
This is so rad. I'm definitely going to bother my BIL who understands CAD more than me to help me here.New to radios, so went with handheld. Designed and 3D printed a bracket and holder so that it was easy to remove. Added some foam and so far its been rattle free.

Thank you very much.First time doing this. Its two pieces so it has strength in the proper directions. The dovetail is fairly tight in my print (had to use a vise to press it together) and I used PETG for the temps. Its been bouncing around a week so far without issues. The radio I have is the Baofeng UV-9G.

Is it for illumination on the passthrough?Did your RJ45 pass through come with wires for power? Mine did and I’ve never seen a pass through that needed to be wired for power before. If yours did, does it actually need to be powered?
No. It doesn’t appear to have any use at all.Is it for illumination on the passthrough?
Maybe so. It doesn’t appear to have anything on it that can light up.Hrmm, some of these have an illuminated label on them, wondering if they use the same body and wiring even if they are blank?
Yeah, the one I received is just the black plastic and connector..no label of any kind from what I saw. I’ll double check when I get home. I haven’t installed it yet.Interesting. The one in my 3G had a light that I never hooked up.

...or people just got a bum one. The one I ordered (same one from the link earlier in this thread) powers a light just as I would expect.Hrmm, some of these have an illuminated label on them, wondering if they use the same body and wiring even if they are blank?
Is the black a slightly different color than the other buttons in the center console? Not that it really matters....or people just got a bum one. The one I ordered (same one from the link earlier in this thread) powers a light just as I would expect.
