you dont need it. I would just buy the axle back dual tip. That is all I bought and it sounds much better. I have watched a YouTube video where there is a walkthrough of the under side of a TRD Pro and there is no visible difference between the center pipe/muffler to what I have on my TRD off...
Thanks for reply and Im glad you feel you feel more confident against obstacles ahaha. So you'd say the truck is still just as quick and brakes just as well with the added rotational weight?
@ixo Can you feel a difference in acceleration or braking with the new setup compared to the OEM setup?
Yesterday, I weighed my 18" trd OR wheel with the factory Falken tire - it is 67 lbs. The setup I am considering will come in at 81 lbs if going with the KO3 in 285/70/17 at a C load rating...
My engine bay is looking pretty dirty with pollen and dust. Im hesitant to spray it off with a hose due to hybrid components. Has anyone sprayed it off and been fine?
I am interested in tinting the taillights on my taco. I ordered the taillight tint kit from Bogar tech design and was able to install. However, the tint comes as two separate pieces of film for each taillight (4 total pieces). I figured it was to make it easier to install.
So I get it all...
yea I like the weather techs too, def a little more pricey. Fit perfect and get the job done.
The lasFit seems like they have slightly more coverage on the edges but that is a trivial point. I was not a fan of the huge logo on the rear seat lasFit one so that was what pointed me to the weather...
Im honestly not sure if the factory lift is only on gas models. Im on the regular trd off road suspension and it easily fits 33s.
One way to look at it is that you cannot install the hybrid components after the fact but you can always change suspension. And Id also be willing to bet you can...
I bought a 2" wide 35 foot long roll of black grip tape on Amazon. It was like $11 so why not. I tried installing freshly after it rained and it was much too humid for it to stick. Waited for a drier, sunny day and it went on well. Made sure to clean the rail with isopropyl alcohol and dry them...
I am strongly not a fan of this blue. Seems like quite the attention seeking color. Also, it doesn't really seem to fit the TRD Pro name. TRD Pro is supposed to be the rugged off-road vehicle and this color gives off a delicate, cutesy vibe. Thats just my opinion... To each their own.
I am curious to see if Toyota is going to redesign this with a proper fix. Kinda nuts they kept the same thing for the new 4runners too. Pretty lame a dealership is saying that installing the icon plates would void the warranty. Options are to do nothing, install the plates, or spend thousands...
I have the OEM rock sliders and im gonna try this with some grip tape from amazon. I will report back. As is, they are pretty slippery, especially if wet.
