You bet, it's a nice feature. And yes, I went down this road as I'm rolling with a constant 300lbs on the back. The 817 by specs, and accounts from others, should have been the ticket sitting in that 1.25"-1.5" rake range.
The bigger frustration's the fuel economy hit.
@elturco yeah, the Peak setup is a little different, I was more referencing small spacer kits that would raise the front end 3/4". Greenlane offroad makes a set similar to what I was suggesting.
@elturco good to know, thanks. I'm in conversation with Dobinsons as the 817's are wildly over performing. I have 750-800lbs on the truck and I'm still sitting at 1.5" of rake and with 2.25" with 400 lbs. These results are out of spec leaving me with more rake than I'd like.
Few other...
Hey @elturco I'm curious how things worked out with the 817's and no front lift? I just installed the 817, and have 300 fulltime weight in the back, and I'm shocked how much added rake I have. I'm now sitting at 23.75-24" or 38.25 (from ground to fender) in the rear while the stock front's at...
@justin thanks, yeah, that's the primary application I've seen for them as well. My understanding is similar, folks with van conversions seems to really like the 3-position lock option.
I'm very curious about some of their 4X4 specific suspension setups. I do know a shop guy who's putting them...
Hey folks, looking for any beta on this Falcon suspension upgrade (designed and tuned for the 4G Tacoma). What's of particular interest is the 3-stage lock out in the rear which conceivably should be super helpful to manage increased payload and limit squat. Now, I'm up to speed on rear-coil...
Well, I've been trying to get a set of 817's as a near term measure to increase load and minimize squat but nothing's set to hit North America until late June (so I'm being told by any NA distributors).
I've tried connecting with Dobinson's directly (Australia) but not having much luck there...
@gofastdan sounds like you've selected a suitable handle! I'm with you, what's the point of crawling along FSRs when you can just plane at a suitable speed with any vehicle (and particularly now with proper rigs to do so).
Thanks for the feedback, kind of what I was thinking. Doing some...
@gofastdan @trailhunger
First of this is an incredibly helpful thread @gofastdan with great contributions from the community. I'm specifically interested in your respective impressions of the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System (SES) (6000lbs) versions that I believe you both opted for. I'll...
