That's cool, but I wonder if the steel is necessary. The bracket is just providing an offset right? It doesn't look like it's doing any structural work. In that case I wonder if you could just 3D print this..
adding to that, temperature affects how much the electric motor is used in hybrid tacomas. I have a leisure route I take every once in a while. If the truck's already warmed up I can get 28+ mpg, but typical from a cold start is around 26 in the summer. I tested the route in between 15-25 F...
Yeah, I think the truck's programmed to keep a minimum amount of energy in the batteries: 2-3 out of 8 bars, and not to treat the batteries like a backup unit where we'd want to keep it fully charged.
That in mind, what I think makes sense for camping and other trips is to bring a backup...
I'm planning a trip where I'll need wifi and was seriously considering solar + starlink. Then I remembered my truck used to have wifi -- and it's $15 a month. OK well I can do that or pay however many hundreds for starlink. Now, I forget what the truck's AT&T wifi speed is, but hey it's a nice...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I *think* the only aftermarket way to do it would be a device with an OBD2 connector that's programmed to read the camera video feeds. But I don't know where that data is exposed / if that's possible.
What the...
+1 to this. you'd think my hood was open all spring with the amount of pollen and dust that got in. basically took a microfiber cloth and maybe a wet rag and the whole thing looked great.
roll the dice on ebay. annoy the seller until they send you pictures of the roll they supposedly got from an out-of-business installer and definitely not alibaba. play chicken with heatstroke installing under the sun. realize you didn't do a perfect job. embrace it and bask in the knowledge that...
