@DutchOven
I 100% say you should cancel the dobinsons and order the OME 3320k. It’s a super simple install.
Lift the rear, both sides. Unbolt the lower shock. Disconnect sway bar and brake lines. Jack one wheel hub, slide the old spring out and new one in. Same thing on the other side! Easy...
Bahh ok… it’ll definitely be better than stock with ride height but you may feel it has a lot of bounce. Give us an update after install!
Are you doing the install yourself?
The 819 will be too soft. You should get the 821 or the OME 3320k. Not sure on the other companies springs but something that'll handle heavier constant weight is what you need.
I’ve got a smartcap EVO sport, plywood platform and wooden drawers. When I was at the expo in AZ the ARB rep told me to get the standard springs (up to 400lbs). Seems like you are suggesting the medium springs for my constant weight? Since the rock sliders attach to the frame and not the body...
Nice work man! I almost pulled the trigger on those but didn't want to wait for them to be available and wanted something to handle more weight so I ended up with the OME MT64s.
With the trackbar relocation bracket, which I'm considering, why did you go with the higher hole? From what I could...
I really enjoyed this whole process. From figuring out if I wanted 5160/5100, 6112/6100, eibach, kings, fox 2.5. It really came down to a system that will last 100k+ miles without needing a rebuild. I daily drive 400mi per week and the plushness of the OME while handling my weight was the key...
Welcome to one of the fun parts! Analyzing every option and the excitement of finally choosing what’s right for you.
I just installed the MT64s a week ago and can already tell a world of difference. Check out my post about it and lemme know if you have any questions.
Its not that bad honestly. The worst part of doing it yourself is the cost of all the tools to do it. I watched countless videos of installations and the only part that was never shown was removing the lower knuckle. If I knew how to remove that it would have been a walk in the park. I do wish I...
Pull forward more than you think you should before cutting the wheel and angling truck as much as you can. Use your backup camera and just make sure you don’t clip the car on the short side and you should be fine!

I wish it was easier to take pictures/videos AND lead the install but that was not possible. Would have loved to make...
Install completed! Done 5/31/26 and 6/1/26
I wish it was easier to take pictures/videos AND lead the install but that was not possible. Would have loved to make a legit YouTube vid for you guys and gals.
It was an adventure of a day!!
7am to 4pm
Disassembly was pretty smooth. Except...
UPDATE
Install date had to get pushed back because Dobinson never got their springs back in stock. Decided to change to the OME stock weight springs (3319 up to 440lbs). Shock surplus changed the order right away and I got the requested springs 7 days later.
New install date is 5/31 with the...
You should call them tomorrow. They are very helpful on the phone. They can’t help Dobinson’s inventory. Apparently, they are notorious for long delays. Their only real fault is not being up front on whether or not they have the shocks on hand or if they order direct from Dobinson and are at the...
I have not yet received the Dobinson springs… but that’s not on Shock Surplus (SS). Dobinson just doesn’t have them in stock yet. The fault of SS is that they offer the spring at all. Also, their email communication has been terrible but any time I call them, it’s very helpful and pleasant. I...
Do you take it offroad? Any concerns with doing so? I would like to install these so I can run 285s comfortably after I install my MT64s. I'd like to avoid having to drop another 1200-1500 on new wheels
I called Dobinsons and they are 100% sold out til mid May of the c59-819v springs. Mudify only has the teal and at a higher price than SS. No one has the springs in stock.
I don’t need to drag them into a complaint. I really just wish they had the decency to be up front about it. If I can find...
