I didn't pull the headliner down, just the plastic cover behind the rear view mirror. Did it myself to plug in my dash cam. Don't need any tools. Lots of youtube video's on how to install the Dongar dash cam adapter. The GPS is right there with a plug you can remove.
I've heard the first thing they do is unplug the GPS inside the housing behind the rearview mirror. It would take 2 seconds. Air Tags are a good backup? That's what I did.
