Old harness. There is added time with this to remove then reinstall. As others have noted, the clips on the old harness don’t line up with the new bumper. But zip ties are your friend.
I’m excited to have it done, though.
How did I get here? I was towing a not unheavy trailer of racing...
It was mostly straightforward, but it can’t be rushed. I may have taken 6+ hours. I struggled removing a few clips on the old harness and didn’t want to snap plastic. Also I didn’t have enough push pins / trim retainers (?) for the BSM covers because I think some were lost when I had my original...
Thanks…while I know I snugged up the main anchoring bolts, I didn’t set them to torque spec. Idiot move by me. Now I have to (a) go ahead and remove the treads with the risk of snapping a cleat, or (b) not worry about it….
Nokian nAT Outpost Tires, low profile bed rack for ski racks over a soft tonneau, snow shovel, long snow brush, beefier front skid plate, new wiper blades, low temp screen wash, gloves, flashlight, food and drink.
When you took the bumper off again, did you manage to lift the treads without snapping the fastening cleats? Or had you not yet put the those on? Asking for a friend :)
Yep…may variables when determine load limits. In any case, the effort needed to lift and secure big items on to the roof probably has a lower threshold than 1000lb :-)
