With an underground color I didn’t have to worry about matching the old ones….so I re-used them and skipped the calibration.

Definitely. Underground or bronze goes good with the bumper. Mines blue but I already tested wrapping the sensors in matte black 3m auto vinyl and they work just fine. Thinking of reinstalling my stock sensors wrapped in matte black and saving the $400+.

Do you find everything works with the stock sensors being reused? Angles aren't changed much or affect anything?

So far so good, but not sure how i’d really tell. I have no warnings or disabled driver assists so there is that.

Nice. Do you notice your sensors still alert when you back up close to stuff, or the mirrors light up when someone is in your blind spot on the highway?

Mirrors definitely light up from the BSM sensors.

Haven’t really stressed the backup yet….only got the install done on Saturday.

Nice. Glad to hear. How was it for you? Seems pretty straightforward looking at the directions. I even gave myself a head start the other night by at least clipping the new harness into the spots on the new bumper and installing the sensor grommets and retainers. But haven't pulled the old one off yet and swapped over the BSMs and other stuff.

It was mostly straightforward, but it can’t be rushed. I may have taken 6+ hours. I struggled removing a few clips on the old harness and didn’t want to snap plastic. Also I didn’t have enough push pins / trim retainers (?) for the BSM covers because I think some were lost when I had my original bumper cover smashed, so I needed to make a turn at O-Reillys. I’m not a modder so ymmv if you are slick with trim removal etc.

Sounds like you did a good job. Did you reuse your old harness? I bought the new one.

Old harness. There is added time with this to remove then reinstall. As others have noted, the clips on the old harness don’t line up with the new bumper. But zip ties are your friend.

I’m excited to have it done, though.

How did I get here? I was towing a not unheavy trailer of racing dinghys that decided to jump off the ball hitch and smack into the bumper trim. Fortunately it was at very low speed.
