  1. To chin or not to chin

    I love that color.
  2. Replacing with 12k miles on the dealer stock Falken tires? Really?!?

Not to be contrarian, but I have the wildpeaks on my '19 Jeep and they're wearing beautifully. Rain or shine, they perform better than expected and the tread life has been amazing. All I've done is rotate and keep the pressures good.
  3. Replacing with 12k miles on the dealer stock Falken tires? Really?!?

This. I thought that was the dumbest thing people did, getting rid of tires right off the bat. That was until I verified that Toyota puts tires on your 50k+ dollar vehicle with diminished tread. This is the type of nickel and dime bs that burns my tailpipe. I'm selling my stock Falken's before...
  4. To chin or not to chin

I drive 95 in Florida very much. I’m the guy doing the speed limit or maybe a touch over. I’m clocking around 22 to 23 normally but if it were that much of a thing for me, I’d not be in a truck. I’m more curious what I can get than I am chasing mpg.
  5. To chin or not to chin

I’ll add my newbie 2c here. Doing math in actual fuel used, it gets better mpg than the display shows. Actual vs average being the reason.
  6. Freedom Locker for 4th Gen Tacoma released

Yea, I hate to sound mean, but that video does nothing to help the product.
  7. To chin or not to chin

Now THAT'S a reason. I have a feeling that might be the deciding factor for me too. I also wonder if hooking up a strap to one of the "recovery" points will end up just taking care of it for me at some point.
  8. To chin or not to chin

100% Truth. Right now I'm not doing anything more than getting used to it, trying to figure out if I have buyer's remorse yet, and pretty much just daily driving it. My use is mixed highway/city at the moment. The chin doesn't bother me enough to rip it off, but it also doesn't add anything for...
  9. To chin or not to chin

So far I haven't hit anything with it, but then, I haven't taken it offroad more than my dirt driveway. I see no practical value in it for aero considering it has two giant square openings to allow access to the towing points. At least they could have done what jeep did and made it a tool-less...
  10. To chin or not to chin

Hahahah. Tell me how you really feel. I have less than 1k miles on it so it’s on because I’m focusing on other things. I’m leaning strongly on taking it off.
  11. To chin or not to chin

I'm not making the decision based on what "most people' do, but I am interested in what the general consensus is on the '25 chin. Are most keeping, or removing it?
  12. New Adds to the Taco

That looks really good for chinazon. You'd have to look pretty critically to know they're just covers. Nicely done.
  13. AUX Switches easy to use / hook-up!

Just to throw in a curve, i have a 25 TRD OR and have blanks in the switch positions and no pigtails included but the wiring is there. Sounds like Toyo nickel and diming. Anybody do anything aftermarket using the stock wiring?
  14. Stock Recovery Hooks Painted

Those look great painted, but is the tacoma rated for recovery using those points? I thought they were just transport tie down points.
  15. Driver Side Storage LED Lantern Alternative to OEM

The cubby can hold an OEM Toyota muti-tool, the OEM (or aftermarket) light, or just be used as general storage. I'm sure others have come up with unique ways to use it too.
  16. Driver Side Storage LED Lantern Alternative to OEM

Right on. Let's be honest, the light is a vanity item. We all carry (or should) flashlights and more. This is one of those "cool" factor things and being that, I want it factory looking.
  17. Driver Side Storage LED Lantern Alternative to OEM

Now that's a cool addon. I'm still going for the "factory" looking ones but that's a nice alt.
  18. Driver Side Storage LED Lantern Alternative to OEM

Cheaper yes, but the stock look is my preferred choice. I do have a couple of those harbor freight lights in my road kit though.
  19. Driver Side Storage LED Lantern Alternative to OEM

Yup. The cheaper ones were definitely no go for me. The ones you posted are in my amazon cart. Great find! Especially for a noob like me that's just getting started.
  20. Driver Side Storage LED Lantern Alternative to OEM

that's fantastic. While still overpriced, sure is a helluva lot better than paying toyota's extortion rates.
