Hi folks,
Not sure if this is the ideal spot but it's brakes, so here it is. Has anyone else been frustrated by how the brake boost kicks in seemingly randomly, and when you're normal braking the pedal travel is significant before it engages?
It's really frustrating. My TH is only 4 months...
If I could have gotten the TH with a moon roof I would likely have been going through all the great lengths you went to to keep it quiet. Now that it's warm out and the windows are open, it's surprisingly not bad. For my rod holder I moved the bars all the way to the widest positions. Better...
Probably. Here's my recent post on modding the sport bar to mount onto the top rails of the Bak cover, but you should see more close up details of what you'll need to do.

Hey, glad I can help! I know for me, just seeing it step by step breaks it down into manageable bites. Seeing the step "cut that whole thing off with power tools and if you screw up you're out $1450" would and should give most a good pucker. I'm an ME and was a mechanic while in college, and...
You bet, it's a Riversmith Euro 4-Banger fly rod carrier! Quite happy it mounts to the roof, I really didn't want to have to have a bed rack to mount it. It's supported right around the middle too, so no wiggles. I had it mounted all the way rear on my old Crosstrek, and at over 11ft long, it...
Hey all,
Finally finished up the bed work to put the cover on and mod the sport bar to fit. It's been sub zero most nights for the past 6 weeks. Happy to share some tips and tricks I learned along the way. I'm super pleased with how it came out, but there were a few quirks to work.
Extra...
The sport bar has two flanges that come down to bolt 3 bolts a foot into the side rails. There's also corner bed stiffeners that mount to the cab foot on each side to the cab bed rail. They aren't attached, but that's how it comes. There's 6 3-hole t-nut plates that come with it. Hope that...
Depends on factors. Dealers tend to get what they get, and some, like the one that sparked the thread https://www.peruzzitoyota.com/new-Hatfield-2025-Toyota-Tacoma+i+FORCE+MAX-Trailhunter-3TYLC5LN8ST030330 has expensive options that not many people would want, like over 2k for fancy trailer...
Ooo I totally didn't think about using those paracord cam straps! Those are so much easier and nicer for holding light stuff down back there than ratchets or bungees.. And I have those totes too, will give it a shot.
Those are pretty slick, hadn't considered them yet. They say they are compatible with the oem spray in bedliner too, so that could work well. Bed anchor points are never where you need them, so those may be good no matter what.
Just ordered up the X4ts. Once that's in it'll probably just...
Awesome, thanks for the feedback. Did you ever get a chance to try the OEM divider? Anyone else? Any good? Can you move it around? Work with the BAK? I'm sure if I do go with the Tmat it won't work because of the thickness. But, maybe just the rear half so I can slide things in and out?
Great to hear! what did you use for paint to match after you cut the tabs off? I was going to go with the rattlecan bedliner. I used it on my DIY rock rail steps I posted, and has a pretty good match to color and texture.
Hey folks,
Could use some help verifying compatibility and looking for user feedback on selections I'm weighing.
Here's my plan. I fly fish. So, I'm looking for a versatile setup that I can organize, secure and access my daily gear. But, also quickly and easily remove it all so I can...
Had to drive across the state here in southern new england to even see a Trailhunter or TRD Pro. Salesman said they weren't even bothering with allocations, whatever they get, they sell, so people have to find what they want on their own.
Dodge/RAM has never known how to stay focused. Their stuff has always left me with head scratches. It's clear everyone with a sport bar is going for the Hilux look. And I mean everyone globally, not just for sale in the USA, with their offerings. Not all options look like cheap pos, the ARB...
Cool, I'll have to give it a go one of these days. I've had a lot of turbo cars, and the crosstrek was the first not to have to have 93 in it, so, was nice. It's good to see the new engines so adaptable to octane on their own, versus having to get a tune for it.
Here's my spec sheet, I'll see if I can remember to snap a pick of the sticker.
This is how it was on the lot. There were no others within 100mi of this dealer at the time in bronze oxide, and only 3 other dealers in the state that had one. They had 3, white, black and bronze.
Things to...
Thanks, good to hear. From an engineering aspect, I appreicate the tight tolerances, but it does mean in general it might take more time to break in.
I am curious that you really feel the impact of the higher octane. Stock mapping? Measured? What's your feedback?
I just picked up a pair of soft shackles and kinetic rope from harbor freight, since I've had 2 friends get stuck in the snow, and would have given me an excuse to play hero had I been prepared...
Coming from 6 Subarus... I'm blown away how fast this truck gets hot. The heated steering wheel...

I really liked it, fun, capable with all the modes and over 9" of ground clearance, but just too small and not enough ... bed space
