4l/4h/2h shifter knob keeps breaking

I'm wondering if others are noticing this issue with their 4l/4h/2h switch. The first time this happened, the button that allows you to change between 4 and 2 wheel drive was rendered useless, I could not depress the button, and I was stuck in 4h until I forced the switch back to 2h, the result was the button was rendered useless and the switch was free floating (the truck could still go into 4h/2h and didn't require me to push in the button). It's not like I'm abusing this switch... I maybe use it once a month when I'm off-roading to hard to get to backpacking trailheads, once I get this replaced this will be my 3rd switch in 12 months.

I’m having the same issue. I also baby my Taco. Did you find a solution? I jiggle the knob while trying to press the button down almost forcing it down so I can transfer into 4H.
