Hey all,

Cancelled my order with Aspire for the Pro "style" grill with no cutout and decided to go OEM. If you get the right discount OEM is actually cheaper (if you don't count the light bar). Plus something just looks a little off to me with the aftermarket "pro style" lettering. Idk if I'm tripping or not ... Can't put my finger on it.

Anyways, considering Diode Dynamics for the light bar. Price isn't absurd @ $500 and I've read they're good.

Anything else I should consider ? And does anyone know if it will be an issue running the light bar along with the powered sub I have to the battery ? I've never run a light bar, just subs/amps. Currently have a powered sub with 300watt RMS

Also, can I confirm this OEM Pro part # with someone ? 53101-AK060

And lastly, any links for a nice switch ?
I've got an SR5 so no pre wired aux.

Just so you're aware since you reference both: Heritage (53101-AK070) is different from the Pro (53101-AK060) grille in the fact that the Heritage is matte and the Pro is glossy.

I'm not sure about the Diode (but IIRC, their bar is 18"?) but you'll probably need some type of mounting brackets (the hole in the grille is 20")

I used the ones from this kit since I bought a Heretic bar.

Also, I agree about the aftermarket looking wonky.

Thanks man!

I was mixing up verbiage. I think I'm stuck with the gloss pro because I want the silver lettering?

The DD comes with brackets, but I'm glad you pointed this out. Should I look for 20" you think ? Want to do it right!

Their photos make it look flush

I'm running ditch lights, light bar, powered sub, and raptor lights on my SR5 and haven't run into any issues. I don't know if the power system is different but some of these truck with the compressor and remote power in the bed have to draw a lot more than these aftermarket lights.

For switches, check Cali Raised for a blue backlight or Rave Offroad for a white backlight. Cali Raised has more options but the blue backlight kind of sucks.

Thank you!
And you ran all that to the battery ?

I should be fine then.

Do those factory squares for the button on your SR5 just pop out from the back ?

I'm running a power distribution block, secured on top of the passenger side fuse box, with an inline isolation switch. I have a single heavier gauge power from the battery and a heavier gauge ground from a factory ground located on the passenger fender.

All of my accessories, including the sub, are ran through the isolated distribution block, all fused independently.

The blanks near the steering wheel all pop out pretty easily but you need to pull that whole panel to access them. You can also use the blanks by the gear selector.

Pro level install!

I want to do that because it looks clean and safe. I wonder if I need it with just a sub and Lightbar ?

Thanks for sharing man! I appreciate this.
Thanks amigo - wiring could be cleaner but I'm not done adding/removing yet so I'll clean it all up in the future.

I'd go ahead and set up the distro block now just in case you add additional powered accessories in the future. Just keeps everything manageable.

Good point. Especially since every month I say I'm done and I am not done lol

Got a link to that box ?

The other thing I'm wondering, for those more knowledgeable than me, since the diode Dynamics harness comes with a 3 position rocker switch (I'm assuming LED, Backlight, Off) then would the replacement switch need to be like this ? Or just the standard TRD Grille square and then you cycle through ?

Unless I'm missing something, looks like they moved to a 20" ? I guess it doesn't actually say in the specs, but found a post by them for a "new 20 inch Lightbar" on the forum and when I click it, it's the same bar I was looking at

Looks like they may have updated the light bar, I believe they used to have an 18" that fit, but the next size up may have been a little too long and required some trimming of the sides. The one I see on their site now looks like it fits and has the brackets as well. Provided I'm looking at the same one.
