Composite skid plate

I’m picking up a front composite skid plate from my buddy who is upgrading. If I only install the front plate do I need to get the cross member? I’ve got a 2024 SR5

I appreciate it. I don’t go off road other then going on the beach and some occasional fire roads. I bought the one off eBay that has the oil filter access panel and doesn’t require the cross member. I just gotta see which one I leave on.
