Hi Everyone,

The 4th Gen Tacoma is arguably the best platform for overland builds and hauling outdoor toys. However, we all know that once you start adding height with lifts and bed racks, getting heavy gear onto the roof becomes a major hassle.

We’re currently exploring a Heavy-Duty Electric Side-Loading Platform—a motorized system designed to bring your gear down to your side—and we’d love to get the community’s take:

1. Would you trust an Electric Side-Lift Platform on the trail?
If we developed a motorized platform that brings your gear down to the side of the truck, would you find that useful? We’re focusing on high-torque motors that can handle dust, mud, and heavy outdoor loads.

2. What gear are you hauling that needs this?
Is it about wrestling with Kayaks after a long day on the water? Or maybe getting heavy storage cases down without climbing all over your tires? Let us know your specific "pain point" gear.

3. Electric vs. Manual: What’s your "Trail Priority"?
Tacoma owners value reliability above all. Would you go for the convenience of an Electric version, or would you only consider it if it had a reliable manual override?

We want to build something that actually solves a problem for the community. Let us know your "must-haves" and "deal-breakers" in the comments!

I'd use it to load and unload cargo cases. Sounds interesting, might save a back.

would it be adaptable enough to go on the canopy rather than the cab? A manual override would be an asset also what current requirements would the high-torque motors have. Definitely Interested in this.
