Dick’s Creek Trail – 2024 Trailhunter, Deep Crossings & a Lost Drone

This run was supposed to be a quick recon in the ’24 Tacoma Trailhunter — just a little taste of Dick’s Creek in Unicoi, TN. Instead… I left with soaked boots, a Tacoma covered in real trail scars, and a drone still stuck in a tree.


Dick’s Creek was running deep, and I got to see firsthand how Erwin, TN is still recovering from Hurricane Helene’s flooding in late 2024. Months later, the hospital is still closed and a lot of businesses are boarded up. The town’s healing, but the trail? Still calling.
