I picked up the TRD aluminum boards from the dealership today and there is no mounting hardware in the box. Are they supposed to come with hardware? and if so exactly what. I got the trd skid plate with red lettering as well and no bolts in that box either

AI seems to think they should come with the required fasteners

I had the required hardware (and instructions) when I bought mine.

The skid plate mounting bolts are reusable with what comes on the truck.

My box was sealed with nothing in it besides the protective tape and shipping cardboard mounts. How much stuff did yours come with?

I believe the brackets and fasteners are attached but no instructions and no bolts

I can't remember exactly as it's been over a year, but it was a small parts box that had the hardware. They gave me the printout of the instructions.

fasteners are the bolts. that sucks, I'd just swing by a dealership with your receipt and the service dept can probably chuck you a bag of what you need.

My TRD OR came with those same steps installed. When I removed them and sold them to another member, we discovered that his TRD OR already had the bolts installed in the holes in the truck and he didn't need my bolts. Have you checked the mounting points on your truck? Those steps don't mount to the frame, they mount to the body under the doors.

Thanks for this info. I’ll check in the am it was dark when I got home that would be great. How long did it take to remove them?

I believe I may have originally told you wrong as I installed the tonneau and running boards at the same time. The tonneau does come with a small parts box. The running boards however use the (M8 I believe) bolts that are already screwed into the truck.

Please don't post "AI said..." answers. They're often incorrect, as the answer is wrong in this case.

AI is only furthering the enshittification of the internet.

I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just against the AI BS that's becoming way too common.

I found the PDF of the install manual by searching "PT738-35240 pdf" (see attached). It confirms that no hardware is included and the bolts should be installed on the truck already.

Maybe 10 minutes per side with a cordless impact. If I remember correctly, two of the mounting brackets are slotted so you can leave two bolts in the truck body and "hang" the running boards off those two bolts. Then you just put in all the other bolts and tighten everything up. I did it in my driveway laying on my back .

Yes. Mine were holding the "rocker protectors" that I took off.
