I just wanted to share my experience getting a remote start installed in my truck in case anyone is on the fence.
It cost me about $900 CAD for the system and install. Evo start was the only option I found and I called around to a bunch of different local companies before I got ahold of anyone who was even willing to touch a manual transmission.
As far as actual functionality, it's phenomenal. Comes with an app to remote start from anywhere in the world, your fob can also start it with a few clicks. The "ritual" that you need to perform when you leave your car is something you need to get used to though. You need to turn on the parking brake with the vehicle in neutral, then, take your foot off the brake and your lights will blink a few times. Then you get out of the truck without turning it off, close the doors and then lock the truck. When you lock it, the engine shuts off. This process guarantees to the Evo start system that your truck is in neutral, as it was running with you outside the truck. This took a bit of getting used to, but with my first winter since getting this truck approaching I am very happy with this system.
