For those already driving the 2024–2025 Tacoma Double Cab:

How do you actually use your running boards day to day?
• Daily driver and passengers
• Kids or family getting in and out
• Work or gear-related use
• Mostly for looks

One thing we debated a lot during development was step width and load rating.

We ended up choosing a 5.5” wide aluminum step, rated at 600 lbs, with non-slip pads, aiming more at real daily usability rather than just appearance.

But we’d love to hear from actual owners:
Do you prefer wider, more stable steps, or slimmer boards that stay tucked in?

What’s been working best for you so far on the new Tacoma?

I've been having trouble finding running boards that do what I want.
-I want the running boards to be full length even on the long bed.
-sit very high, more like where sliders typically sit, and be sturdy so I can use them to access the roof more easily for loading gear or clearing snow and ice.
Currently the only options I find that are about in the right place are rock sliders but I dont want all that extra weight from the reinforced steel sliders since I'm not going on trails extreme enough to need that level of protection.

I've seen those and they are probably the closest to what I'm looking for at the moment, but they are expensive so if someone else makes a similar option that doesn't cost so much before I finally buy them It would be great ;p
