KUAT IBEX and Kuat IBEX Retractable Tonneau Adapter - IBEXC1

has anyone had the same issue? I currently have a RetraxPRO XR Tonneau Cover on my 24 tacoma trailhunter long bed. I tried installing the adapter today and realized that the t-slot inserts are too thick(about 1/10 of an inch) for the t rails on the retraxpro xr. spoke to rack attack who insured me that it would fit my set up, and they told me to reach out to KUAT. Spoke to KUAT and was told that the adapter is not compatible with with the long bed retraxpro as they come with shallower slots compared to their other models. How does this make sense? would I have a compatibility issue with other accessories as well? im assuming this is an issue with retraxpro rather than with KUAT. also, what are some recommendations for adjustable height bed racks. My roofrack barely clears my garage door so I cannot install a full height rack for my 128l roam cases. any other racks adjustable like the IBEX? thatis also compatible with a tonneau?

edit:spoke to retrax, they said it was the "new" design for the 4g tacoma and the slots are intentionally shallower. they told me that they not have a compatibility list for the new design. but why would they change what seems to be a pretty standard sizing across all brands and platforms?

Did you ever find a solution. I have the TRD OF short bed with a Retrax Pro XR. I went to put the T nuts into the slots and I don’t think they fit.

There is a known issue with Retrax Pro XR and the Kuat Ibex for the 6' Tacoma bed. Not the 5' bed though. I would reach out to Kuat, they are very helpful.

yea, its a known issue. Ive spoken to retrax and kuat, both left me pretty high and dry.(kuat says, its not "verified for compatibility" they wont say, it just doesnt fit). spoke to retrax, they said that is the only rail that is for the long bed. according to local dealer, its the old design and retrax never updated the mid size long beds.

In the instructors and specs Kuat states the rails and T nuts may not be compatible with the long bed Retrax Fortunately, I have the short bed, so it worked for me. You would think that all they would have to do is supply different Tnuts.

Did Kuat gave you a solution? Tried to install the adapter today on my trailhunter but faced the same issue. I think what Kuat need to do is to make the t nuts 1/16 thinner then problem solved.
