I am in the process of installing the Mishimoto Ultimate Bundle and AFE cool intake system on my 2024 TRD Off Road Tacoma. Due to the scope of the work involved in completing the entire installation it was necessary to stage the installation.

The technician who completed the installation of the radiator and intercooler parts managed to complete the install without taking the front grill off which I didn't think was possible, but he did it.

The only challenge that I have at this point is I have previously installed an Addictive Desert Design front bumper and winch so I am not sure if I am going to have the necessary space to mount the transmission cooler.

Long story short....... I wondering if anyone has completed the installation of the Mishimoto Transmission Cooler with a custom front bumper and winch I would greatly appreciate any wisdom on completing a similar installation.

I was planning on assessing the installation space during the first stage of the install which involved the installation of the new Mishimoto radiator and intercooler unit, but the technician completed the installation without taking the front bumper off so I am not sure if I am going to have the necessary space to complete the install.

I appreciate the feedback for the installation. The guys at Specialty Truck and Offroad in Edmonton have extensive experience dealing with custom and complex truck modifications. They completed the installation in two steps. The first installation involved the installation of the new radiator, radiator tank, and engine cooler without taking off the front bumper which I didn't think it was possible.

Three weeks after the first installation, they reviewed the Mishimoto installation video and associated PDF documentation and then installed the transmission cooler. My initial concern about this Mishimoto project was having the appropriate space for the transmission cooler with having a winch kit and Addictive Desert Design front bumper installed prior to the project.

They managed to adjust the mounting points and associated connective tubing in order to accommodate Mishimoto transmission cooler and the ADD winch and front bumper mounting kit. From what the mechanics shared, the most difficult part of the installation, not taking into account the removal of the front grill, ADD bumper, and winch kit mounts, was draining and adding the transmission fluid to avoid any dashboard instrument panel error chaos.

The Mishimoto installation video and associated PDF documentation outlined the steps necessary to complete this process, but it is very tedious and requires some patience to ensure it is done properly. Additionally, I had my truck scheduled for a schedule maintenance appointment with Toyota, just in case if there were any issues with dashboard indicator lights or the transmission fluid flush and refill.

I driven the truck for a week now and so far so good. I am not sure how to measure the performance metrics prior to and after the installation of the Mishimoto components. Reflecting on the installation after the fact, I should have taken a base line reading from my OBD2 scanner and then completed another scan once all the components have been installed. It will be interesting to see what Toyota technicians will say the next warranty check up I have for the truck.

I wouldn't recommend tackling this installation unless you have access to a lift and the space to accommodate the removal of all the grill and front bumper accessories you may have installed prior to such a project. The entire installation of Mishimoto's Tacoma cooling kit was completed over two five hour days with experience technicians.
