Getting a somewhat annoying rattle on medium bumps when the moonroof shade is open. It goes away when closed. Anyone else? Has anyone had it addressed as a warranty item?

I just noticed this same issue recently. Were you able to find the problem/solution?
I noticed the same thing and I'm wondering if it's the moonroof itself rattling and the shade just masking the sound when closed.

I have not had it fixed. It only seems to happen if open. I think I would still hear it if closed or partially closed if it was the moonroof itself.

Glad im not the only one. Symptoms exactly as described. From what I could tell I would guess the shade being closed isnt just masking the sound, but the pressure of the shade itsself up against\in between the aluminum parts up front is stopping whatever vibration.

I have a similar rattle when my moonroof is tilted (not slid back). I tried adjusting the glass but it is persisting. I can feel the glass vibrating when going over harsher bumps. Wondering if the sunroof assembly has a loose bolt.

Also wondering if any of you guys have gone to the dealer for a fix?

My moonroof cable split. The fix is to replace the entire moonroof. 11 hours of labor + parts was over $4k. It took 7 weeks to fix. 6 of those was waiting on the new moonroof. Luckily the dealer warrantied it without me having to push the issue.

My rattle/squeak was the rubber gasket rubbing on the perimeter of the moonroof aperture. The dealer acknowledged it and waxed the painted surface.
It started squaring again almost next day.
This past week I noticed the rubber getting caught on the opening again and would jam up. I'm wondering if there is a way to adjust this as I had to physically push on the glass from the outside to get it to unstick.

Short term remedy was to add silicone grease on the inner painted body area where the perimeter seal contacts the surface. After 1 week then grease collects dirt and grime and now I need to remove it and reapply.

TLDR; Rubber seal against body is squeaking and getting stuck. Needs lubrication and/or long term adjustment.
