I have a Diamondback Switchback hard aluminum tonneau cover on my 25 Tacoma. It will support a 400 pound load on the top. I would like to mount my Thule Cargo Box on the top of the tonneau for extra cargo volume. Diamondback offers a set of cross bars that stand about 3” high and would work for this application. However they want $600 for the set. I don’t see that kind of value. Is there an alternative option to bolt directly to the tonneau cover that would be more affordable?

Have you looked on the Thule website.

I’m a Yakima guy and I know that they have a mount system that would work.

if Thule has a mount. Start searching on Craig’s List and Facebook marketplace

Yakima offer an adapter foot for their bed racks that bolt into T-slots. So you have to buy a tonneau that has T slots on top of the rails. I'm getting one installed on Thursday and just bought the adapters for my existing racks. I also don't know what Thule offer though.

You can buy the Yakima T-slots separately and mount them yourself.

You don’t need them from the factory
