Okay so what you’ll want to do is once you have the harness hooked up to the head unit, feed the wires down the right hand side of the console. There’s a triangle shaped trim piece on the passenger side that you can pop off to help feed. Then, pop off the shifter trim piece and you should be able to finagle your fingers or a chopstick or something in that “back right corner” under the shifter trim. From there, it will be smooth sailing. Thanks! That’s perfect, that’s the kit I ordered and was curious about putting the switch in that location.
I didn’t bother with t-taps or anything because honestly that’s a whole other headache that I don’t really see as worth it. Maybe if I have more switches it would be helpful to have the backlit illumination but for now I could care less.
be really careful when fishing the wires because there are a lot of sharp edges, I cut my hand up pretty good while doing it. Also, if for whatever reason you need more room to fish the wiring, check out zprecision’s cupholder mod replacement on YouTube. It’s really easy to pop the grab handle and a few other things out of the way if you need to. Also I highly recommend the oversized cup holders from zprecision.
