Hey Tacoma community,

Big thanks to everyone who shared insights on our first design! Your feedback helped us refine the Tacoma Rear Seat Roof MOLLE Panel—now with a key upgrade to make storage more practical and passenger-friendly.

The Struggle Is Real:
  • The Tacoma’s tight rear seat leaves little room for gear.
  • Essentials (first-aid kits, tools, recovery gear) end up loose or buried.
  • Sacrificing passenger comfort for storage isn’t a solution.

What’s New in Version 2:

Rear Passenger-Centric Design:

  • Tilts downward 60° from the roof (hydraulic rod-supported) toward the tailgate, so rear passengers stay undisturbed.
  • Grab gear easily without leaning over seats or blocking legroom.
Quick Install & Secure Storage:
  • Fits 1-inch headliner systems—no drilling, just plug-and-play.
  • MOLLE webbing keeps gear organized and locked in (even off-road).
Built for Safety:
  • Spring bolt locks prevent accidental openings.
  • Reinforced edges + reflective strips for durability and nighttime visibility.

Your Turn:
We’re this close to finalizing the design, but need your input:
  1. Does the downward tilt improve usability?
  2. What gear would you mount here?
  3. What would stop you from buying it?
Your ideas drive our products—thanks for helping us get it right!

Does this cover the dome light?
Will it interfere with headspace for passengers?
Will it damage the headliner?

I do really like the tilt function. Would make accessing items from the driver seat a lot easier. Hopefully the driver will be able to tilt and close from the driver position without having to change positions.
Personally I’d keep emergency items on it like a Walkie talkie, fire extinguisher, road flare, flash light, multitool, and first aid kit.
If it interferes with passenger comfort, it would deter me from buying. If it damaged the headliner I’d be wary.

glad to see the progression of this product! Can’t wait to see it finalized!

I think another improvement could be the ability to attach and remove the panel easily. So I can stow it away if I don’t need it at the moment.

I agree 100% with everything you said. The only other concern I would have is if you wrecked when the panel is being accessed. Bad news for rear seat passengers. If it tilted the opposite direction so the driver could access it and have enough give incase of a crash then it would be fine.
