Drove the Tacoma with a new OME suspension setup and an ARB rooftop tent from Seattle to Zion over 2 days. Come for the MPGs, stay for the buttes and the sheep.

Better ride than the factory Bilsteins? I know you were afraid to give up the factory ride quality.
Have you adjusted the compression and rebound at all?
Time to go re-run top of the world?!

Yeah, better than the factory setup. Especially under load. I've so far stuck with what I initially set, as that seems to be a good balance. For at least one video I should set them to max squishy to see what it's like.

Was there a noticeable reduction in performance after switching to 87 octane? I'm the opposite of you - have never bothered with premium. Just curious how noticeable the difference is.

Also, are you able to describe specific characteristics of the suspension that are improved over stock? With the stock bilsteins, I find that low speed compression is fine, but high speed compression seems too stiff (resulting in poor wheel control and shaking/bouncing on conditions like washboard) and less rebound than I would like in both low and high speed.

In the video I do take some rough trails at a "brisk pace" and I was shocked with how well the shocks absorbed what should have been some big jolts. They are a position-sensitive design, with increased damping as it gets closer to full compression and that works wonders when they're getting a workout. Unfortunately, it wasn't a situation where I had an external camera to film what the shocks were doing at that point. I wouldn't get close to that same speed in the stock setup.

That said, it does change the on-road performance with a bit more roll in the corners and a softer feel overall (keeping in mind I have mine set for medium up front and medium-stiff in the rear.)

Just watched. Another excellent video.!

Any idea how your OME suspension compares to stock Trailhunter with its version of OME? We tow a Bean Trailer with our ‘25 Trailhunter Long Bed and need to beef up rear springs. We may put bags on it but would rather get away with just springs. We have about an inch of sag. Trailer fully loaded is about 2000 pounds (1200 dry).

An inch of sag seems totally fine/normal.
