ToyotaPartsDeal… falsely selling 4G items that don’t fit 4G

I recently placed an order with ToyotaPartsDeal for items for my new truck… I entered vehicle info, and shopped accessories.
Bought rear tailgate emblem inlays, and the console safe. Website said in big green print these items FIT my 25 Tacoma.

After purchase, as I was doing some more reading, I saw there’s 2 versions of the console safe, one for hybrid and one for non hybrid. When I went back to check the part number, I learned what I actually got (that they advertised as fitting my 25) was the 3G safe…. Pt972-35200. I emailed them immediately asking a question if they were sure it fit and could they switch it.
Never got a reply, but couple days later got a shipping notice.
Items arrived… safe is the 3G part. And tailgate emblems are not right either they are waayyyy too small.

I requested RMA, provided details, pictures, etc. They denied my return for the emblems because the outer wrap was open. And for the safe said I am responsible for shipping it back, and I’ll take a 20% restocking fee.

Best of all they are still falsely showing these items as FITS a 24/25 Tacoma on their site as of this posting.

Yes, I have sour grapes. Yes, I should have researched the Toyota part number first in more detail…. Rather than trusting their site.
Just Sharing for others to beware especially for 4G TACOMA items on their site.

If they advertised the parts as a verified fit for a 4th gen and they don't fit, AND they won't take their crap back or charge a restocking fee for their error, I'd be effing pissed too & burn them down on every possible place I could find to do so on the interwebs. That scenario should be handled by the seller providing you with a prepaid shipping label to your email with the return authorization.

That is what credit card disputes are for.

+1 I would be on the phone with the CC company immediately. The same thing happened to me with the letters on the tailgate. I bought them from the dealership and the parts number wasnt correct. I opened them and actually put one on before realizing they were too small. Dealer just gave me the correct ones, no hassle @ all.

Yeah… I got a reply from them saying they’d review my RMA request again, and then an hour later said nope, still same deal… not their fault, I pay shipping and 20% and I’m screwed on the tailgate inserts.

Initiated a dispute with Discover, hopefully they treat me right.

Like if I ordered the wrong thing totally on my end that’s fine… but when I enter my vehicle info and your site says it FITS, man… that’s on them and a great opportunity for them to step up and make right? We’ll see I guess

it'd be inconvenient if the site were to get "fixed" before your dispute is settled.
