One of the main reasons we developed the Auxchemic® Side Steps was simple: truck steps live in a pretty rough spot.

They’re constantly exposed to water, road salt, mud, gravel, scratches, and whatever else gets kicked up from the road or trail. That’s why we didn’t want the finish to be just cosmetic.

The steel step uses our Auxchemic® sand-textured protective coating, a concept inspired by the kinds of protective approaches used around EV battery underbody environments, where exposed surfaces also have to deal with moisture, debris, abrasion, impact, and corrosion.



The coating is designed to resist:

• Everyday impacts and road debris
• Coating deterioration in harsh conditions

The material system also incorporates EU RoHS-compliant standards, with attention to restricted hazardous substances. For us, the idea was never just to make a compact step that looks good out of the box. We wanted something better suited to the way trucks actually get used.
