Good evening. I’m wiring up some ditch lights on my 25 TRDpro using the connection by the washer fluid. After wiring up the lights, when I tested the lights, they turned on as soon as I turned my truck on. I unplugged the connector and tested the white wire with the white/black ground and it had constant power. None of the aux switches were turned on. I moved to the larger connection (20A/40A) and found the 40A (red) was powered with the 20A ground (white/black). I’m sure it’s operator error but I will be damned if I can figure it out. Has anyone seen this and know what I’m doing wrong. I ended up using the 40/20 wires since the ditch lights are not even close to 20A. Plus it’s Aux 1 which is what I wanted anyway.

I found the same if you have 4 aux switches then pg 462 of the owners manual has the white wire listed as switched with the ign on. Page 461 shows the 3 switch configuration and the white appears to be associated to an aux switch. Personally I just went to each location and tested each circuit and mapped it out so it made sense to me. I found the white wire for each pigtail that has it is switched with the ignition. The white is not powered with the just Accessory turned on.

Thank you. I went back out this morning and did the same thing. I guess I should have RTFM.

With new found knowledge I went back and wired the backlights to the white constant power. So now it all makes sense.
