Wouldn't a cooler be subject to airflow? It's not an airflow issue.
A cooler couldn't hurt right, but that's not the issue with our tranny's overheating.
Just did a few days with an unloaded TRD Pro at 9-11k elevations.
Noticed a few things - in 2Hi in regular drive mode the truck likes to stay under 2k rpm's which caused the tranny to start to overheat.
When I went to S Mode and kept in 2d or 1st gear the temp dropped back down to mid range...
Why are you people so resistant to knowledge or ideas? Go waste oxygen some where else and the thread count would be less without the very specific few of you.
Even if you use a 20w not all oil's are equal, here's a quick example that might be illustrated with a compilation of oil analysis no matter what weight you chose to use.
Red Line
Uses PAO + high ester content
Esters are polar → they stick to metal surfaces

Does 0w-20 work? Perhaps. Toyota will say it will suffice for lifetime of engine however Toyota's definition of lifetime is different from mine. I've been in a class with Toyota peeps and their definition of lifetime isn't what most people think it is.
Does 0w-20 work, how about after its...
I noticed same this this weekend off-roading, it lets you shift or shows that you went up a gear to third or 4th but the rpms didn't drop because I don't think it actually shifted. Id have to let off gas and slow down for it to actually shift into 3rd or 4th. Even then the rpm's stay around...
Its usually a good thing and useful for an offroad vehicle to have a lowed geared low range. There's definitely a time and place for 4lo. Not everyone will need it, and most of the time while off-roading 4hi has always been low enough for some hill climbing, definitely better for mud and sand...
What else would you call those jackasses that put in plastic oil pans on a offroad truck, hoods that are so thin they rattle down the hwy, jackasses that say stupid stuff like lifetime trans oil, 10k oil changes.
I suppose we could call them "dennisd"
Reasonable assumption if you believe the bean counters. However this has been debunked in a few different ways. As discussed in previous posts the truck will adjust the pressure to the oil you are using. After switching to 5w-30 my truck did indeed adjust to same pressures as 0w-20. I...
