  1. Rear suspension: new springs or bump stops?

Thank you for the input. Do you have additional weight added to your truck, or is it stock?
  2. Rear suspension: new springs or bump stops?

I replaced the front springs with All Dogs Front Lift Coil Springs a couple months ago - very happy with those results. The added weight from steel rock sliders and steel skid plates had caused a bit of sag and I was feeling the front bottoming out often, prior to the switch to All Dogs in the...
  3. Alldogs Offroad Front Springs Installed!

Could you measure from ground to bottom of fender in both front and rear? And also comment on if you've added any weight to the truck (skid plates, sliders, etc.)? I installed the front springs but still have stock in rear. Leaning toward also doing the rears. Right now I have about a 0.5"...
  4. BF Goodrich All Terrain replacing Stock Generals

I was able to sell my stock OR wheels and tires for $900 on Facebook Marketplace. That seems to be about the going rate.
  5. Mild Rattle or Ticking Sound Drivers Side Interior.

I have about the same rattle. It happens primarily when accelerating/going up hills and seems to be coming from somewhere around the steering wheel. It is certainly in the area of where the driver sits and does not seem to be coming from the side pillars. I am going back and forth between...
  6. Storing larger tire in bed

So far I've been running with no replacement tire as I haven't been running any rough trails on my camping trips. I've got a tire puncture repair kit and sidewall repair kit. I figure if push comes to shove I can limp somewhere on the spare under the bed.
  7. SmartCap Experience. Water Ingress anyone?

I would be a bit upset having paid that much for those gaskets to look like that. Seems to either be a product defect or installation error. I hope they don't say those gaskets appear normal.
  8. Driver's side door not unlocking

I returned to the shop and oddly enough the door unlock worked as normal. It had something to do with the Guest function on the Toyota app. I had it enabled while they were working on it with a 5 mile radius. I disabled the overall Guest function but the individual settings within that Guest...
  9. Driver's side door not unlocking

Very weird behavior. It was working normally prior to dropping it off to get the truck wrapped in PPF. During that time, I had the Toyota app guest driver function enabled to monitor operation, but that is now disabled. As you can see from the video below, when I approach the truck with the fob...
  10. Any Build Regrets On Your Tacoma?

Not necessarily a regret. I got the RCI steel skid plate package....a lot of money and a lot of weight. Sort of wish I had gone with aluminum, but then I found myself on a rocky mountain road and bashed up the steel skid plates pretty good. They're still in their proper form...if I had gone with...
  11. 2025 Black ORP DCLB - Method 703, 285/75/17, Leveled, ARE CX Cap

Great looking truck. If you don't mind, can you take measurements from the ground to the bottom of the fenders, through the center of the wheel, for both front and rear?
  12. Alldogs Offroad Front Springs Installed!

It's been about 2 weeks with the new front springs and I couldn't be happier. Spent some time off-roading with them, as well as driving roads where I was experiencing some abnormal reactions with the stock springs (seemed to bottom out) and these stiffer springs handle all that beautifully. It...
  13. Bed 120v outlet questions

I tested charging my Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 power station via the in-bed 120v AC outlet and it wouldn't work. Truck was running (in park), 120v AC button near the AUX gauges was engaged. I could hear the Jackery audibly clicking every few seconds, as if it was attempting to charge but failing...
  14. Alldogs Offroad Front Springs Installed!

I installed these same front springs last night. Overall, very impressed after initial driving. I still have about a 0.5" rake with all-stock rear suspension. The install was a bit more challenging than anticipated but we got it done.
  15. Any word on a larger fuel tank?

A recent episode (25:20 mark) of Expedition Overland highlights using the spare tire cavity for what appear to be two 6-gallon fuel cells. I had done a quick search at the time and located the fuel cells from Trailed. I will likely be doing this at some point for longer overland trips as insurance.
  16. Alldogs Offroad Front Springs Installed!

Just ordered these as well as the ICON tophat reinforcement kit , thanks for the info @andrewleader!
  17. Alldogs Offroad Front Springs Installed!

Very interesting. This may be exactly what I am looking for. I'm in roughly the same boat you were in - installed approximately 300lbs of steel between rock sliders and skid plates, so I'm looking to stiffen up primarily the front suspension; I can feel it compresses easier than I'd like. Did...
  18. I'm hearing apparently they added front tow hooks for 2025 to all models, is this something that can be upgraded

Are the genuine Toyota front tow hooks rated for higher load limits than the stock 2024 tow hooks that come on the truck? My understanding is the stock tow hooks on the Tacoma are not rated for recovery.
  19. Skid Plates- what brands

I have the full body steel skid plates from RCI. At the time of receipt, I wished I had gone with aluminum - they are heavy. However, I found myself in an unexpected situation shortly after and the skid plates took a few good hits...I'm glad I went with steel.
  20. Seeking experiences with renting and maybe purchasing overland trailer.

After a significant amount of research, I purchased a DoDrop ALPHA from Oregon Trail'R last month. I needed something small enough to fit in my garage next to the Tacoma while still allowing other storage room. I plan to use it for up to multi-week trips around the western US while working...
