Alberta seems to be getting blasted minus Northern Alberta, it's driving me nuts. I'm scratching like a crackhead on cheque day waiting for that first fall lol
How to these mount on? I'm curious, looking at a cheap version because I'm not even sure if it's really my thing but I'm curious how they mount.
I'm guessing the side rails?
Yup, I've had them inflate to nearly 50psi before on my old Duratracs, hit one bump and my rear end quite literally skipped the the side on dry pavement lol
32 cold
275/70/18 KO3s
Anything higher and the ride just gets too rough.
Dealer loves to fill them to 35-37 and I get mad. One hump and the rear end jumps around.
Hey folks, I'm looking at two different styles for the front recovery points.
I was originally going to go with the black ones but I like the idea of shackles on the front, because I admittedly love to look like a mall crawler when not in trails. That said doing a lot of snow running making...
Which of you beautiful folks got a bed rack currently setup on your Tacoma? Love to see some pictures and some honest reviews.
I NEVER seen myself as a bed rack guy, but as I dive (or drive) deeper into the overlanding world I find myself slowly filling my imaginary shopping cart with thousands...
The 8 speed in my Camry before I got this truck was actually my deciding factor on being so dead set against getting another Automatic lol. Those i4 Camry's actually could've been way more preppy if it wasn't for the fact that it wasn't to shift to 2nd near immediately
We differ that way my friend I'm afraid lol.
I beat on everything I own, live by the "I paid for the whole thing I'll use the whole thing" plus the lead foot I've apparently at some point had transplanted between 15-16 years of age decades ago.
That said, I usually take it to around 3k in 1st...
Yup, I hear you loud and clear. Do you find without iMT sometimes going from 1st to 2nd you literally lose power for a split second? Almost like it's bucking and then finally you get your throttle response back?
I still get that daily. I can rev match and heel tow like a boss, but 1st-2nd still...
Last time I touched iMT heavily was snow running last winter. Just to give it that little extra help where I may pussy out lol and also give me a little more relief with the clutch footwork crawling along in 2nd on the trails
Also truck was fairly new so I used it heavily as a crutch, afraid to...
KO3s installed a few days ago.
My truck is happy, my wallet still won't talk to me, I'm expecting divorce.
Had Duratracs (fairly worn 1-2 seasons left) before this and I'm not sure if it was a just improperly balanced or what but man what a difference.
ZERO shake until you reach 130kph and...
You're implying OP is going to be offroading. If you're going to do any amount of heavy offroading you're going to slip your clutch a lot which is evidently going to wear out your clutch.
Offroading comes with a price auto or manual. That said, in any situation I've ever been in offroading...
I love this argument from auto drivers lol. Yeah, probably roughly $2000 at a shop. But, it's a wear part for one, much like brake pads. Don't buy a manual if you eventually don't want to replace a clutch.
Secondly, don't be an idiot and know how to roughly drive a clutch driven truck. I've got...
Good to hear. Did they notice any crankshaft hammering at all or any complaints with the OTT tune? It's not that it wouldn't be great to get those few extra thousands RPMs, I just wouldn't want to chance it, I see redline ... A lot 😅😅
Interesting, wasn't aware they up the rev limit. That's definitely something I wouldn't want to mess with, considering the reason it's so low on the manuals was because of the crankshaft hammering they were getting.
Don't know much about the OTT tune, hopefully that could be something they...
Zero regrets. This is the first vehicle I plan to actually pay off and keep (hopefully forever) lol. A big part of that decision is the manual transmission.
First to second is a little wonky trying to get smooth shifts if you're trying to take off faster than a crawl, but it's a minor...
Check the official website they seem to have different varieties between both. I got the same as OPs, but without the red going around the seat. I bought mine from EKRs website. (Shipping and communication was a little painful, it does take longer to receive, but you eventually get them 🤷🏻♂️)
