Thanks, something in the charging system seems wonky If itās sometimes applying 13.8v and other times not. Also seems like a lot of drawdown overnight - logout of the Toyota app to rule that out as a source.
Given that some like yourself have an issue, and other people donāt, it suggests a...
Whatās the voltage look like as youāre driving around? Is this your original battery or has it been replaced?
Ford did a recall not long ago due to a bunch of bad batteries, so the first answer is certainly a possibility.
Second answer begs the question of whether due to a defective charging...
Screenshot that parts page and fitment info if you haven't yet done so.
it'd be inconvenient if the site were to get "fixed" before your dispute is settled.
Paint color is underground. Terra is more of a orange/brown.
My 2017 TRD OR has colormatch door handles with keyless touch lock/unlock. Driver door only unfortunately, I think they added passenger door later.
Yep, they ceased offering the $8 standalone as of 2023 model year.
It's particularly galling when Ford (for example) provides their similar FordPass service at no charge.
While there's a third party LTE/cellular solution using a Fortin EVO-ONE and Viper/DEI SmartStart, the hardware and...
and yet the real world data says otherwise...
given the propensity of people to add a bunch of wind-drag bolt-ons and bigger/heavier tires, the data for 2024-25 Tacomas seems to be doing pretty good.
Contrast to the data for 2024 Ford F150 or Tundra at an avg of 17.20 and 16.64 respectively...
as I posted in the other thread, Iām skeptical of the claim. Every 380LN3-MF replacement battery seems to be AGM, which strongly suggests the 380LN3-MF is also AGM
I suspect someone read about the NiMH hybrid batteries and misconstrued that with the 12V battery.
Doesnāt really matter though...
Yes, the 12V cutoff in the Garmin Mini 3 could be problematic, especially if it's not exactly 12V. I prefer a higher cutoff like 12.2V or 12.4V, which can be had using an appropriate wiring adapter. The Thinkware and Blackvue cameras have those as available choices internally, and also go into...
Quoting @djevans post for the SoC chart.
Granted, I donāt yet own a 4th gen and this hybrid battery stuff has paused my interest in moving from my 2017 to a 2025. So take the following for what itās worth.
A properly functioning charging system should leave a battery at 100% SoC every time...
I disagree.
Iāve had a Thinkware with parking mode and voltage threshold cutoff in my 3rd gen for over eight years. Blackvue in my funcar similar length of time. Both dual camera, front plus rear.
Battery life has been normal, replace every 4-5 years just like all prior vehicles without a...
You making a snarky reply to a post from nearly four months before you joined was rather amusing.
Ignore the dash computer and compute your actual MPG using an app such as Fuelly.
Also double check your truck is accurately figuring distance - compare your phone gps speed to the truck...
I'd imagine it's very market dependent.
Checking Toyota.com 2025 model inventory in 50 mile radius of a north Atlanta zipcode, the available models are:
20 Trailhunters (16 of which are in-transit)
24 Pro's (20 of which are in-transit)
30 SR XtraCab's (25 of which are in-transit)
PreRunner -...
Yes, and the FordPass app works great. Zero cost. (my wife has a Bronco Sport)
What's even more egregious about Toyota is the Remote Connect *used* to be available separately at something like $8/mo or $80/yr prepaid. Now it's only available bundled with additional unnecessary (to me)...
Should be the same - the card key for Lexus predated it's availability on regular Toyotas. Didn't stop 3rd gen owners from programming a Lexus key to our Tacomas since the ECU was same/compatible. I've been using the card key since 2017. :)
Yes, a decent smart maintainer will āsolveā things for you as a bandaid.
It however doesnāt address the underlying issue - thereās a problem if the truck canāt sit for two or three weeks and start right up. Whether the problem is a bad battery, a faulty charging system, a fkd up app/cellular...
My reply to that would be: What's defective in the charging system that the truck isn't maintaining a full battery charge?
Sorry, but that dealers response BS. A properly operating vehicle, under normal usage conditions, should keep the battery at or close to full charge.
