PSA - Radio will turn on without key in vehicle (truck or)

Wanted to let everybody know that the radio will work without the key in the vehicle, and the truck is off. Was cleaning the inside today and accidentally hit the power button (14in screen). A second later the screen turned on and showed the toyota logo. Just figured out so I thought I would share.

I have a 25 TRD Pro. I put all keys 50 feet away and inside a microwave oven for RF shielding. My radio will not turn on. If I press the start button once or twice for ACC. it says no key detected. Power button on radio / volume knob does nothing.

Was your key nearby? OR you cell phone as a key?

I just discovered this today and searched out this thread. I even put my key 50’ away inside a microwave and it did it. Sometimes you need to hold the button a second or two but the radio does indeed come on.
