It's not even an auto start/stop like the non-hybrids. The electric motor can propel the truck without the gas engine on. Auto start/stop systems need to turn the engine on to start moving again so there is some lag. The hybrid system is more immediate especially the power from the electric...
Limited IForcemax here. I get the same lugging shudders when the rpms dip around 1500rpms on hwys, under load, low speed high gear cruising. In the early mornings its the worst for that first two shifts when the fluids are cold. It will shift 1-2, slam into 3 and lug/vibrate. It does this...
The tune I received caused issues with boost cut, so it would throw a check engine light when I was at full boost and it would pull power right away. Very unnerving if you've never experienced it. I've had turbo cars in the past so I knew what it was right away. The OTT tuner tried to correct...
The hybrid motor and torque converter combined with the engine gives off a lot of vibrations. Even Mazda's version of this type of hybrid setup has similar issues. It's probably just due to the design.
Might be something to do with the hybrid system and transmission/torque converter. The more throttle you use, the less you feel it. Using a lighter and constant throttle application, you can feel it like it's pinging. I did get it OTT tuned at one point and the problem persisted so I don't...
Android auto just got an update recently and now i'm seeing this same message. Also my Gamesnacks is now gone from my apps screen in android auto since that update. Super pissed off about that one.
Sounds like you're experiencing lugging. Mine does the same when it's in eco/normal. The transmission wants to shift as fast as possible to preserve mpg but it causes the engine to lug and shake like it's too high in gear for the engine to make power. throw it into sport and see if that...
That's great that the OTT tuned worked well for you. I had a different experience though. I'm not the only one that had a bad calibration with an off the shelf tune. I ended back to stock cal. Not to say they couldn't have fixed the tune with a custom tune. I went back three times to my...
Just passed 8000 miles on the ODO on my Limited I-forcemax. MPG will change based on your driving conditions. The landscape also plays a huge role. Driving habits like short trips will destroy mpgs. Even normal toyota hybrids are not exempt from that. The Tacoma i-forcemax is really, a mild...
I don't like the opening that's not covered on the side of the filter box. It will suck in the hot air from the engine bay and cause it to heatsoak and lose power. The AFE intake i have actually connects to the side of the firewall of the passenger side wheel well sucking cooler air.
I have Full-time 4wd and driving up steep grades onroad, my trans temps never move from the norm. Even when lugging the crap out of it and gassing it up the hill. I've done some light trails at about 5000ft and left it 4HF and never had any issues with trans temp. Granted my truck has a...
As you drive more and fill up your tank more the average calculated tank range gets better. Mine is consistently showing 350 miles now before E at approximately 22 mpg. Hybrid iforcemax.
