  1. Trailhunter with 35s Rubbing (Need Help)

New update: I hit a few more technical obstacles. Steep hill with deep moguls. The front-drive side rubbed against the crash pad. I will be removing it. The rear is rubbing as well, which I didn't expect. There are small bumps in the plastic wheel liner that extend about an inch at the...
  2. Trailhunter with 35s Rubbing (Need Help)

I got the wheels and tires off Facebook marketplace from separate individuals. Wheels brand new in box for $1000 Tires 6000 miles with 16/32 tread for $800
  3. Trailhunter with 35s Rubbing (Need Help)

Sorry for the late reply; I didn't go out yesterday due to the rain here in SoCal. When out today and did some easy - moderate trails. In a few areas, I was fully flexed out and made it a point to steer lock to lock, with no rubbing. When angled just right, the clearance between the tire and...
  4. Trailhunter with 35s Rubbing (Need Help)

I will let you know tomorrow evening :fingerscrossed:
  5. Trailhunter with 35s Rubbing (Need Help)

Nope, still have about a half inch of clearance even at lock. No rubbing on the road, but not sure if it's enough to clear when off-road. I will test that this weekend.
  6. Trailhunter with 35s Rubbing (Need Help)

Everything is good now. I rerouted the sway bar disconnect wire above the frame and removed that bracket. I have no rubbing full lock forward and reverse even when hitting bumps and the brakes. I will hit the trails this weekend and see how it does off-road flexed out 🤞
  7. Trailhunter with 35s Rubbing (Need Help)

That makes sense, 295-70-18 is 34.3 inch diameter. Im using 35x11.5R17 Falken WildPeaks AT4W. Lessons learned: If you have a disconnecting swaybar, be prepared to reroute the wire over the frame and remove the bracket with tires larger than 34.5 inch.
  8. Trailhunter with 35s Rubbing (Need Help)

Agree, positive offset pulls the rim in closer to the frame, but in my case, using a lower offset, "+20" would not prevent the rubbing. The bracket is rubbing against the center of the tire, not the edge. I would need to push the wheel out a lot further than I would want to clear it that way...
  9. Trailhunter with 35s Rubbing (Need Help)

I have not taken on a trail yet. I installed them last night. It only lightly rubs when at full lock and II hit a dip. I was driving around parking and intentionally ran over a dip at full lock to test clearance. I will be looking to reroute it over the frame like FlyAngler suggested.
  10. Trailhunter with 35s Rubbing (Need Help)

That's exactly what I was thinking of doing after removing the wheel and the bracket to find out what it even is. It's coming from the swaybar disconnect mechanism goes under the frame, then routes between the body. This bracket holds it against the frame and tries to protect it from rocks, I...
  11. Trailhunter with 35s Rubbing (Need Help)

Interesting this is the first time I’ve heard any say +35 offset is terrible.
  12. Trailhunter with 35s Rubbing (Need Help)

I just installed Method 703s 17x8.5 +35 offset with Falken Wildpeaks AT4W 35x11.5 R17. The driver's side tire is rubbing on a bracket when at full lock, and I hit a dip or press the brakes hard. Has anyone experienced this, and what was your solution?

  15. TRD Pro Impossible to Align Properly...

Ok, back from the dealer. Forman was gone by the time I got there, so I had to settle with the service advisor. I asked how they were able to get the thrust angle down from .44 to .17 if there is no way to adjust it. He is claiming the first readings I got were wrong because the technician...
  16. TRD Pro Impossible to Align Properly...

From what I know, the thrust angle is not directly adjustable on our trucks; this is where the service techs get hung up. But the rear toe is adjustable on the TRD Off-Road and PRO/Hunter. Adjusting the rear toe will affect the thrust angle. What they should do is start by adjusting the rear toe...
  17. TRD Pro Impossible to Align Properly...

For what it's worth, here is the screenshot from the service advisor. I haven't driven the truck yet, so I can't confirm the drift was resolved. Over all the numbers do look better, but rear thrust angle is still higher than I would like... I will let you all know how it drives. Honestly...
  18. TRD Pro Impossible to Align Properly...

Just received an update text from my service adviser. "Hello again, so vehicle is ready. I had a talk with my manager, the technician that worked on the vehicle, as well as the shop foreman. The shop foreman test drove your truck this morning and did confirm it is still pulling. What he...
  19. đź’˛What price did you pay for your 2024 Tacoma??

2025 Trailhunter SRP $65,622.00 Paid $59,248.13. I thought I got a pretty good deal, but now I'm dealing with alignment issues that may not be resolvable
  20. 2024 Tacoma Transmission Overheating on Long Climbs Off-Road

I noticed this as well on my first time out with the truck. Leaving it in (D) 2Hi and 4Hi, it would shift into 3rd even at slow speeds. At the time, I didn't know about the trans temp issue, but just didn't like the engine being so buged down. I shifted to the manual mode for the remainder of...
