I understand mistakes happen but I've seen this here, TW, and on reddit.
I want to be positive for anyone here's sake but with aluminum blocks and heads you usually get 1 good overheat and then its kinda cooked.
Seems like plugging stuff back in that you unplugged is a routine part of...
I bought a set of TRD OR take offs and my speedo is considerably more accurate now than it was on 245s, I think you're onto something.
I have a feeling Toyota just calibrated the speedo for one model, and that was that, and any discrepancy wasn't enough to warrant it's own calibration.
Edit...
That would be a good spot for it too, running the cable through the headliner might be a little tricky but the interior trim is pretty easy to remove on these trucks.
Installed a scan gauge 😎
Now I have actual numbers for engine oil temp (EOT), trans fluid temp (TFT), intake air temp, and I set the scan gauge to display rpm so my main gauge can be on MPH, which also has oil pressure and battery.
Overall a very worthwhile purchase for $150
Here's the info...
I've found with trucks, shifting with your fingertips works nicely.
Using palm shift technique and just using your fingers instead of your palm is enough force. Just gotta let the synchros line up, can't push it or pull.
It sounds crazy but they're really not car transmissions, especially in...
Truck transmissions don't like to be rushed. If you try to get off the line as fast as an automatic, it's going to be jerky/clunky for sure.
There's a lot more weight in the drivetrain compared to a car. All the manual trucks I've driven, if you rush the 1-2 you'll get a nice clunk as the...
This genuinely threw me off for a second walking back to the truck 😂
Did a little walk around on the matching color TRD, this is kinda funky Toyota.. I wouldn't be super happy about that.
I like those Methods, Gunmetal is 👌
Any change in MPG going from the 265/70/17 to the more narrow but taller tire?
I will probably go the same size you went or 255/75/17 at least for a true 32.
Pizza cutter is for sure the move though
My trans temp went up while offroad in 4Hi on the stock SR wheels 245/70/17
Didn't overheat though, switched to 4Lo and it stopped climbing. The trans temp was however climbing in 2Hi too fyi.
Here Toyota I fixed the truck for you:
#include <iostream>
class Vehicle {

Try the chalk test at 29psi, then go from there. I've had tires be noisy from overinflation, especially over bumps or freeway expansion joints (you get the kinda booming balloon noise), decent chance lowering the psi will work.
The volume of air inside the tire is larger so the required...
Required tire pressure to maintain load capacity goes down as tire size goes up. I went from the stock SR alloys to the TRD wheels and thus decreased my PSI from 35 to 30 cold which is exactly what both that website and the door sticker on the TRD OR say for the 265/70/17
I would believe it, 29...

Someone sent this link on TW and it's honestly one of the better articles on how/why trans fluid is not a lifetime fluid. For anyone that goes offroad its probably more like a 20k mile fluid to be honest, which is what I'll do.
The site...
I like my Diode kit but they could have at least sent an aux button cut out for the rocker, can't put a circle in a square guys.. lol either way my setup works for me ?
Glad to help!
Almost all endlinks are like this, it is a little confusing when you first try to get them off.
Sometimes the nut will rust to the bolt and you will actually have to cut the whole thing off cause the allen will strip. That's only on the worst rust belt car examples. It'll be...
I'm not a mechanic but usually with swaybar end links you gotta stick a hex in the end of the bolt and then use an open wrench to break it free, photo from ebay for reference:
These are endlinks off a 23 but same concept on the 24+ I'm sure.
End links have to spin cause otherwise, well lol...
Got full CBI skids installed, had it done at Dynamic Autoworks in Fremont. Thank you Joe and friends ?
Diode Dynamic SS5 Grille Crosslink Lights go on next week ?
