I agree, the payload was very likely above 3,000lbs even before anything was loaded up. Definitely a fair bit of work pulling that around, but also that's the towing life! Night and day difference depending on your rig. I started off pulling a travel trailer with an F350 Super Duty, kinda ruined...
Nicely done! I doubt it does too much to affect engine temps, but worth keeping an eye on for a week or two to be safe. Curious if there's a change in temp, if any at all.
That's ridiculous, all that damage and effort for just a few bucks worth of fuel. Sorry that happened to you, something similar happened to my brother's Miata when he was towing it cross-country.
Is the engine cranking? Usually I like to start with the 12v battery system and go from there. Not saying that's the issue, but most electrical problems stem from that. Could be low on charge or have a corroded terminal.
It is a Tommi Makinen Edition! Bright red with the rally stripes. If you go for the stripes I think replacing the silver stripe with red would look great on yours.
Love the Evo! I've been tempted to get an Evo 10 for a while now. I currently have an imported Evo 6 but want something with a couple more creature comforts hah!
I usually like to reserve 4L for especially tough stuff, or when 4H is really struggling. I'm always worried I'll leave it in 4L and forget.
But nicely done for a first trip! Once you get your first little scratch on some trim the off-road anxiety goes away.
My wife had her car's windshield replaced (not-OEM) and it had really bad distortion, especially with bright lights at night. Obviously can't speak for the quality of the Tacoma windshields, but glad to hear you're getting OEM, shame about the wait through.
Nice, I love me some rim protectors. It's a strangely satisfying feeling after scraping the curb, slightly panicking, then going out to see you just rubbed the tire.
Looks fairly normal, the door collects a lot of water from rain and/or washing your truck. There is a plastic barrier which separates that area from your interior, but it can fill up and leak if there's a clog. Open you door and move it back and forth to see if there is any sloshing. If not...
Definitely give the clay bar a shot, I've had decent success with that. I'm in AZ (also mentioned before) and yeah, the water hardness is ridiculous out here.
As far as trucks go, I had a proper grandpa-spec gold over tan 99 Ranger (literally from my pa), moved up to an 03 F-350 Super Duty, a 21 Tacoma TRD with the manual transmission, and most recently a 23 Rivian R1T, which I recently sold. Feels weird being truck-less for right now!
And in regards...
