The service manual is definitely not the clearest on this...
I think this means to turn the lock or trim ring (highlighted blue) clockwise and down, then the knob will loosen counterclockwise. Maybe.
Tires and wheels aren't the issue - it does it with my OEM wheels and tires at 32-35psi (I tried a few different pressures), as well as my LT275/70R17 C rated Falken AT4Ws on Method wheels at 35-38psi. The vibration doesn't change when the wheels are rotated to different positions. It's more...
Wow, the marketing is extremely misleading on those. They transmit either over 4G, or over FRS (Family Band) channels at less than 2 watts. So they only work with cell coverage to transmit with an "unlimited" range.
Outside of cell coverage, they work just like any other $20 FRS radio. They...
Interesting. That sounds like a mild version of what my truck is doing.
Is yours a 5ft or 6ft bed? The double cab long bed trucks have a 2 piece rear drive shaft, which can have extra issues.
Has anyone else had a vibration/rumbling in their truck that was confirmed to be something other than wheels and tires?
I need to get this fixed so I can go snowboarding soon!
My automatic 24 TRD OR developed a weird vibration at 9700mi and I'm going back to the dealership on Tuesday for the...
Oh crap... I didn't know that California doesn't do a sales tax reduction for trade-in vehicles. That sucks.
You were offered a great deal for the trade situation. Register it in a Montana LLC or something. LOL
That's actually pretty good on both sides of the deal. What dealership? They seem good to deal with.
And you should only be paying tax on the difference, so $11.6k plus tax(on the $11.6k)/title/license.
It's worth a shot, and like I said, stranger things have happened.
Get down there and see if you can get the $10k cash deal to work out. So many variables go into a dealership sale that the factors could swing your way today.
I truly wish you luck. If the dealer is low on used inventory, maybe they'll want your truck.
But realistically, $40-42k is private party sale value. You'll never get that on a trade-in unless you pay a lot for the new truck. The dealership has to make money on some part of the deal...
As for the value of the SDM...
Have you ever driven a truck without a front swaybar? It has some benefits, but it's not a magical cure-all.
- Do you wheel your truck often enough now to frequently lift a front wheel off the ground?
- Do you drive rock trails where you feel thrown side-to-side...
I give it a 0% chance that you'll get what you paid for your truck. Zero.
If your current truck is effectively new, let's say 1-2k miles, and is put 100% back to stock (including the OEM running boards)...
You'll be lucky to private party sell it for 80-85% of MSRP. So at most, ~$41.6k. Anyone...
Mine looked pretty iffy after a year of use, but after a thorough cleaning it's back to 95%. I just pulled it off to swap to TRD Performance Exhaust.
Keep it clean and it'll look good for a while.
Demo models, short term lease return, early lease return, buyer's loan had issues and failed to close, general buyer's remorse, etc.
Sometimes a dealership will "buy" a new vehicle to get it "off the lot", and then a manager will drive it as a perk for a while. Then the vehicle will get sold...
Bringing this back to the top...
My 2024 TRD OR just started doing this at 9700 miles. It seems to vary a bit, but when it's bad it's BAD. My dealership initially said it's "normal" but after opening a case with Corporate Toyota I'm going back in next week for another appointment.
I'm getting...
Some type of lockable door/flap or locking gas cap could be useful, if executed well and good quality.
Yes, I have had theft concerns.
Features:
Fuel door: secure, clean/sleek looking (no gaudy fake bolts like on the example door pictured), matte black to match the TRD fender flares and other...
Depending on your preferences and driving style, they are or they aren't.
The 5100s will have firmer damping at ride height. The Taco TRD OR ESCV shocks firm up substantially halfway through the travel to be firmer than 5100s, with more bottoming resistance. The vast majority of people who say...
The ESCV shocks seem to be damped a bit softer (less compression damping) in the initial travel, and then firmer (much more compression damping) in the second stage of travel. I agree that it's more of a benefit on mid-speed hits versus low speed off-road driving where a 5100 is good. And...
