New to all this stuff so how does an over the air update work? I don't plan on paying for the app thing when my year of ownership is up - does that mean I am not worthy of the update? Can I expect my very good and sincerely conscientious service department to just do it when I go in for my next...
I ran mine in ECO mode until the transmission went out ( I had one of those.) Have run it in the NORMAL mode since and have had better mpg's with the new transmission from the start.
Appreciate some info on this. Back in the day after driving in subfreezing temps on slush and snow I would not set the park brake (just put trans in park) because I had one freeze up after it sat for about twenty minutes along side the highway. This new technology of setting the park brake...
ruggersh - here's a picture of my rear window - TRD Offroad non premium, top back corner. Gaps at top on both sides. Seals fine as you move down the window. can others check for gaps? anyone with a Premium trim can check? Front doors are good.
I just checked my rear windows on our TRD...
:blush:I meant a tongue in cheek comment, Nick. I'd like to take your current setup; you put together an excellent package I my humble opinion. It beats the heck out of Toyota's design on a Limited edition.
For a one time purchase of $6 - $8 bucks you have something that quiets the seatbelt chime when you want it. The device works for years and in various rigs without having to spend another dime if the chime is all you are concerned about. They pop right out when you have a passenger who needs the...
I think they look terrible. I will be down in a couple weeks to take them off your hands for a used price of course. They'd be passable on my silver TRD, but I'd suffer. (I think you made great choices!)
You'd think! But they design these new ones to be used on the city streets and highways to compete with the car market knowing most in North America will never be on anything rougher than gravel roads.
Almost always top tier. The book says 87 so that's what I use unless in the areas that only sell 85. Haven't had any problems with the gas in 16K miles. Cold weather and winter tires knock down mileage, but the Taco runs just fine. Now that I've read these comments, I'll try 91 for a few tanks...
My bad, sort of. I was not referring to the digital key, but to the cell phone app to start the rig. I know of one person who used the cell phone app to start their Taco until they didn't have cell service and had to send a friend to get the fob. An off topic situation, sorry.
CAREFUL - you've gotta have cell service for the cell key to work. There are places out west where there's no cell service. If you've lived in Meridian long you know where some are.
I am not in favor when other tactics are still available. As I understand it, right now the tariffs only affect Mexico, Canada, and China. Toyota can increase production elsewhere or ship parts to other countries, then ship them here and avoid the taxes, but add shipping, handling.
