How's that Kuat? It looks like it's less bulky than my Thule XTR Pro so I've been curious. Is it sturdy and how are the locking mechanisms?

I have the Thule XTR Pro and I love it. Was it expensive? Yes. Is it heavy? Yes (but it has wheels). Is it bulletproof?! As far as I can tell pretty much. It's sturdy and I can take 2 bikes anywhere I go. If I'm taking more than that I'll just throw the other ones in the truck bed. That's VERY rare.

Ouch! That's definitely $$$ for a lift + the install.

No I have not. I recently used the OEM one on my wife's rav4 on the side of the highway and that was not ideal :D. I'm just wondering if the weight/bulkiness of the floor jack makes it more inconvenient than the size of a floor jack.

How so? I figure the smaller bottle jack would be more convenient.

Forgive my ignorance here but why not use a bottle jack instead of a bigger jack, regardless if you go with the 1.5 or 3 ton version?

I'm not sure if it's the same on the long bed, but it might be possible that your rail is not installed properly. I had an issue with the latches when I installed mine but it turned out I didn't have the clamps seated in the rail properly. It's subtle but makes all the difference. Other than...

I called Nitto and, at least for the Terra Grappler G3, the recall is only for 265s with a 17 inch rim. Hope that helps some of you out there!

There's definitely an increase in noise vs not having it there but with the windows up it's not super noticeable. I can't compare it to other racks as I've never had another one on there.
