For how often the transfer case fluid needs to be done $50 isn't terrible but there are cheaper alternatives. A couple alternatives I recommend are Redline MT-LV 70w/75w or Liqui Moly Top Tec MTF 5100 75w. You can also pretty much use any low viscosity SAE 75w GL4 MTF. Using a 75w90 or 75w80...

You should really be using GL5 fluids for the front and rear diffs. Especially considering the 2 specs are not generally cross compatible. GL5 also has twice the additives to protect the gears under high load. GL4 is fine for the t-case.
Here are 3 from a Facebook group over the course of a few months. From what I have read it seems to be a bit of an issue in California. There was a post in another forum that popped up in my feed last week which I can't find now(maybe it got taken down due to some rule violation or duplicate...
I think I am more surprised you haven't seen any posts on it across multiple forums. I have seen probably at least 4 or 5 in the last month. 6061 is also better seeing it is just a protective cover. It serves no structural purpose and bears no load requiring higher tensile strength. For those...
My idea of an OEM+ build is to go almost all OEM accessories with just one or two aftermarket items that still retain a OEM/OEM+ look. Currently Iām 90% there on my truck.
OEM TRD Pro 4Runner headlamps
TRD PRO Wheels with 275/70R18s
OEM Tow hooks and Skid plates
Mishimoto intake
TRD Pro Grille...
Your 2 part numbers are correct for the driver and middle pieces. The passenger side piece is 55670-AK010 and yes unfortunately the trim does only come with the whole register for both the driver and passenger sides. They aren't too expensive though. I think you can get them online for about...
Havenāt seen or heard anything about driveline vibrations related to the front shaft but I think there was an upcoming recall on front shafts made with incorrect materials or something so Iām not sure if maybe that would be related.
See I am the complete opposite. I had heads up display in 2 of my previous vehicles because the trim I bought for other features had it, and I hated it. I always turned it off. So it not being in my truck is actually a relief.
I tow a 18' fishing boat weighing around 3200lbs combined with the trailer. So far I have not needed the cooler as the temps have seemed in normal operating range. But the more inclines you have to drive up and the lower your speed, the more the transmission temperature will increase as it will...
So I got an update on this after reaching out. There is a new part number specifically for the transfer case oil they just released. 00279-DGOLF. It is the new part number specifically for 75W LF transfer case oil. Its expensive compared to aftermarket solutions(Retail is $148 CAD here) but...
Oh nice an actual parts breakdown. Been wanting to see one of these. I kind of figured it would at least come with new tie rods and the lower knuckles to adjust the control arm angle.
I don't know if it does or not. From some of the photos of the actual kit people have bought, it doesn't appear to have axles in it. Would also explain why it is soo much cheaper than the Tundra kit.
Nice! I just did this as well! I installed both portions but I don't really know how much it increases sound over just the axle portion. Looking inside the center mufflers there is a slight difference in baffling but going by your sound clip its hard to tell if its any different.
I wouldn't call it a downgrade necessarily. It is a different type of shock for a different type of application. Different dampening profile and different intended application. The TRD Off Road shocks are designed with off-roading in mind, so for example, the remote reservoirs will handle high...
Typically the Off Road shocks with the remote reservoirs are better suited for continuous more strenuous off roading due to better heat dissipation and being valved more towards off roading conditions. The Bilstein shocks in the lift kit will ride firmer and be more planted on road but are still...
Unless you can find a takeoff suspension kit for a really good price, I would just recommend the lift kit. The Pro suspension is insanely expensive otherwise. Lift kit also gives it the perfect look when paired with 285/70R17s or 285/75R17s
The ride height specs straight from Toyota:
