  1. Factory Lift Kit for 4th gen Tacoma are discontinued?

TRD Pros don’t even really net you much height difference from the suspension. Maybe slightly more height in the front as it looks like there is less rake(they are probably close to a level kit height wise maybe?). Main height difference is off the tires being an inch larger. My truck with...
  2. 75w85 or 75w90 in 2024 tacoma

A lot of dealers actually use 75w90 instead of 75w85. Mobil Delvac is the oil supplier for Toyota and the oil they supply us at our dealership is 75w90 GL-5 MT1 spec gear oil.
  3. Victory 4x4 Front Blitz Bumper - Your Feedback?

Will this bumper retain the use of any front recovery hooks(OEM accessory or aftermarket) already installed in the factory location or do they need to be removed?
  4. My new “Rare Spec” 2025 Tacoma TRD Off Road

Yea unfortunately we do not get the power tailgate or the digital rear view mirror as options on the Premium. You have to spend something like 7-8k more to go the the Limited trim(which we only get as a hybrid) or go up to the TRD Pro/Trailhunter to get those features. Its disappointing to me...
  5. Driveline Vibration Issue & Fix: Replace Rear Driveshaft

It might be a separate issue but it also could have started as a vibration and eventually got worse depending on what is actually failing on these shafts. I was not involved with that one so I do not know all the details of that particular case. Unfortunately we do not have the equipment here to...
  6. Driveline Vibration Issue & Fix: Replace Rear Driveshaft

Not exactly sure on that one. I wasn't involved in that one but it says the driveshaft was warped. It also wasn't the exact same complaint. The ones we have now were for driveline vibration. That one was making clunking noises and rotational noise when in 4WD.
  7. Driveline Vibration Issue & Fix: Replace Rear Driveshaft

We had one that did not exhibit any kind of issue until it had around 30k KMs and when we inspected it, we found the rear driveshaft had deformed. So it is entirely possible to not experience any issues at first and then later find a problem.
  8. Driveline Vibration Issue & Fix: Replace Rear Driveshaft

If it has been vibrating for a very long time, yes damage to the transfer case, rear carrier, etc might be a cause for concern but the vibration would have to be extremely violent for it to cause damage on anything new or low mileage. Output seals and pinion seals would be the first sign there...
  9. Driveline Vibration Issue & Fix: Replace Rear Driveshaft

The thing is, the joints felt fine. Nothing felt like it was too tight or binding. And one of the failed ones was a brand new truck so grease shouldn’t have been dry.
  10. Driveline Vibration Issue & Fix: Replace Rear Driveshaft

Yea we looked into that when we had the Trailhunter with the vibration in and wanted to see if it was the same part as the other ones that were having issues.
  11. Driveline Vibration Issue & Fix: Replace Rear Driveshaft

37110-AK040 is for the 5ft bed. That is the driveshaft in my Off Road Premium Non Hybrid 5 Ft box. 37100 part numbers are usually 2 piece shafts while 37110 are the one piece rear shafts. The issue isn't isolated to just one part number as we have already done the Trailhunter exclusive...
  12. Driveline Vibration Issue & Fix: Replace Rear Driveshaft

When you hear back from them, I would let them know other dealers have found a problem with the driveshafts so they can inspect to see if that is the same case for yours. This definitely seems to be an ongoing issue seeing there are MANY complaints of driveline vibrations.
  13. Driveline Vibration Issue & Fix: Replace Rear Driveshaft

Yes. There are 6 different driveshafts that I can see listed for 6ft bed trucks. And another 4 for the 5ft bed trucks.
  14. Driveline Vibration Issue & Fix: Replace Rear Driveshaft

To me this is the norm. I am more genuinely shocked reading all the posts about how techs aren't finding the issue or going to the lengths to figure out what is wrong and instead saying "this is normal" or "no fault found". This was also the case at the Chrysler dealer I worked for. My dealer...
  15. Driveline Vibration Issue & Fix: Replace Rear Driveshaft

Vibration was most noticeable under 50mph, with 20-30mph being the most harsh. But the vibration was there all the way up to highway speeds, it just became less harsh.
  16. Driveline Vibration Issue & Fix: Replace Rear Driveshaft

Because there are new trucks off the lot experiencing this issue I can not say for certain that the replacement shaft itself will be any better until you install it, but so far the ones we have installed have taken care of the problem. Hopefully Toyota addresses this issue with an updated part...
  17. Driveline Vibration Issue & Fix: Replace Rear Driveshaft

I do not think this is a balance issue itself but a problem with either the shape/straightness of the shaft or some other problem. Other shops have tried balancing the shaft and it isn't out enough to cause the level of vibration we were seeing. That leads me to wonder if they aren't entirely...
  18. Driveline Vibration Issue & Fix: Replace Rear Driveshaft

Not sure. It isn't every truck and it also isn't within a set production period either(which would indicate maybe just a bad batch) so I am wondering if something in the design is an issue or if this is going to be a bigger problem.
  19. Driveline Vibration Issue & Fix: Replace Rear Driveshaft

I work at a Toyota dealer and have been seeing many complaints about a driveline vibration at speeds below 50mph and no one has been able to fix them with the dealers most people have been going to being of no help. It seems most would either say it is normal or try to balance tires with most...
  20. Follow-Up Trailhunter Pulse Vibration 30-40 MPH

Update: We got the new driveshaft in this morning, and put it in right away. Vibration is completely gone now. So the driveshaft was 100% the culprit. And since that date we also have a customer vehicle in for the same issue(not a trailhunter but another long box tacoma with a 2 piece shaft)...
