I keep passively hunting a step today looks exactly OEM, tucks up, but on the left (drivers) side. Ideally with the recovery hook maintained.
(I only have the ARB on the left, but use it for easy four legged long line attachment more than anything)
I want to try two or three different cut down approaches and thought I could use it to do a side by side photo compare for others.
1. Standard (from factory)
2. Reduce ~2 inches, otherwise keeping overall look and keeping tow hook access
3. Reduce ~4 inches, keeping overall look but blocking...
The alignment on these trucks does not appear to hold. I had the first check at 9mo in (it took until Jan '25 for non-dealerships to receive the Gen4 alignment spec publications). At 9mo it was out. Then checked again 6 months further on and it was out again. Just checked it again 7 months...
It's in the queue to modify it. I care more about maintaining mpg over the long haul than just yanking it. Do I think it makes a difference around town? likely not? on a 300mi+ road trip? absolutely. I want to shorten it up, but haven't gotten the space and time or settled exactly on which...
Toned down the chrome to be only the handles. OEM TH grille. OEM heavy composite splash guards (1st and 2nd position). OEM squared off mud flaps. OEM wheels and center caps. OEM color matched mirror backs with PPF. Trail dump exhaust. Had a paint shop color match the upper bumper and then put...
Buy a multi-year alignment package and go have it checked every few months. My vehicle only sees roads and campsites, yet each alignment check has been out and needed to be dialed back in. Outside of the 2h appointment window each time, the cost for a 3y alignment coverage was equal or less...
What do you lose or have to reconfigure on the infotainment reset?
I'm personally extremely hesitant to "undo" the connected services full opt out. Here's what I get within the Toyota app.
I've had a profile since the day I took ownership. It's married to a specific key fob so it auto loads when that fob is used to start the truck. I set up the app back in the beginning, but immediately declined all services and triggered an opt-out. If I have lived without them so far in my...
Where I'm stuck between is: I quickly switched to the OEM trail dump to get rid of the huge tailpipe. And generally no complaints. As mentioned, I feel like it's a touch louder but on the road I don't even notice or hear it... EXCEPT that at about 950-960rpm it triggers an awful drone that...
Don't limited yourself if you're looking for something specific. I ended up buying sight-unseen over phone & email from Wolfchase Toyota in Tennessee. They even arranged private transport from them to my house. Zero hassles. Use the toyota inventory search tool and plug in different zip...
The sensor mounts are not sonic welded. They are one-time use 3M adhesive. You just need to order the correct sensor mount for the back of the trim. it even has a diagram on the trim on how to mount the sensor clip.
I had ordered the flat black and had it painted to match the body color in...
The drink pockets on the doors are very unusable, especially in the front two seats. Would have done a different layout as the rear two are not accessible when the door is closed and at least one should have been oversized to accommodate 40 oz vacuum bottles. I also would have flipped the qi...
Sounds similar that what I am/was battling. I describe it as a mild lugging sensation in my LTD HV.
Dealership (two of them) were no help. Ended up going the @CAMTuning route and we are getting very close (it is currently SO much better than it was originally). Cam was able to identify the...
