Thanks for posting. I had one of my V2 latches go south last month, and SmartCap sent six of their V1s and told me they would send the V3s in October.

It's a known problem that the early transmissions had swarf (metal left over from manufacturing) that causes the transmission to fail. If it happens, I have no idea how long it may take for your dealer to get a transmission and install it. Perhaps there's a backlog, but maybe not. If it fails...

The last six need to be greater.

So... I paid $51 for my OR with the Premium package, so I don't think the prices are outlandish. I'd make sure the VINs don't fall under the transmission TSB.

I'm considering cutting an order. Anyone out there who has them, wanna comment? Complaints? Likes?

I’ve got the Trailhunter. It’s a beast. I park the truck on ramps, slide under on a creeper and remove all the bolts except the two slotted ones. I then lower the plate onto my chest and slide out. The same with installing it. Easy peasy.

Expect that your tires are way over-pressured. They do that for transporting.

Probably the 4-py stock tires. They are lightweight. If you add anything bigger or heavier, it'll reduce your mileage. Within the first week, I swapped them out for 10-ply of the same size. I drive off the pavement a lot and don't like flats.

I can't give you a definitive answer, but doesn't the hybrid engine not have a starter or perhaps an alternator? I can't see how a TH skid plate would interfere with something that isn't there. I put a TH plate on my gas OR, and it's the real deal, unlike a lot of the aftermarket plates that...

I don't see how a SmartCap would interfere since it sits on top of the bedrail.

The positive pressure vent on the top–with the windows open–should keep it cooler while driving.
