  1. Power Tailgate only opens 50% of the time

This happened to me when I tried to close my tailgate with the new Diamondback HD installed before it had time to break in — I turned truck off and on and it was fine after
  2. Defects of Tacooma that everyone should look at

Obviously not much, but we do a couple times a year. In any event this is a purely theoretical issue that nobody on Tacomaworld or Reddit has ever mentioned and they discuss the most inane theoretical issues with the truck. I would very seriously consider not worrying about it.
  3. *UPDATE* - 285/17/R18 BF Goodrich KO3 tires on stock Trailhunter - before & after photos

Compared to the stock tires, how do the KO3s feel in terms of ride comfort, particularly do they feel super stiff? I cannot find many options in C load or lower in this size. I know Es are stiffer so curious how they feel on the TH.
  4. Defects of Tacooma that everyone should look at

Maybe. My 2022 pro had it. Never was an issue.
  5. TRD Sport with 285/70/18 BF Goodrich KO3 Tires šŸ¤˜šŸ½

Can you show the width / fatness of this bad boys
  6. Defects of Tacooma that everyone should look at

All that water literally goes into the same gutter that takes the water to behind the front wheels and to the ground, whether it’s the cowl or cowl gap. It is never a totally sealed off deal on any vehicle—it all goes to the same spot. I think people don’t understand this. Watch any video of...
  7. Defects of Tacooma that everyone should look at

Anyone notice that the paint at the corners of the hood looks weird underneath? Like it’s not smooth in those corners? Doesn’t bother me that much but curious if this is everyone or just me.
  8. RTI Score of 532 (in suspension / axle flex test) for 2024 Tacoma Trailhunter - very respectable

These are very light for their size. A KO3 would be about 60 and 66 pounds, respectively. If you stick with the stock size of 265/70/18, a whole world of SL loads open up and you can get a Falken AT4W at only 50 pounds. I find that once you go over stock size shit gets heavy. (I just can’t...
  9. Diamondback HD on a Trailhunter

I got a Diamondback HD bed cover that calls for the plastic bed cap to be removed for the fitting of shims. I just realized the TH has the integrated bed lights in that plastic cap. Any idea how they are wired? I don’t want to damage anything removing the plastic bed cap. Also, anyone know how...
  10. TRD Sport with 285/70/18 BF Goodrich KO3 Tires šŸ¤˜šŸ½

I went by DT to look at the KO3s in 275/70/18 and they are surprisingly so much bigger in diameter than the stock wranglers. I put them right up against my rim. But the width looks the same. They are very nice tires. 285s must be massive.
  11. Real-Life MPG Thread - Share Your 2024+ Tacoma 4th Gen's Gas Mileage! ⛽

Once I hit 2400-2500 miles my mileage went up to 21mpg or so if I drive pretty reasonably. I use 89 octane though.
  12. Dipstick reading

These trucks need to sit for 30 min to an hour after a drive so oil settles to get a clean read it seems.
  13. Dipstick reading

Ah that would make sense if the tech punched in 6 qt

  15. Oil change -- Anyone over 5,000 miles do a 3rd party oil change?

I’m going to get the tools needed to do it on my own. Done with dealer unless it’s warranty claim or Toyotacare.
  16. Oil pressure gauge reading

Thanks dude. Similar to mine. I hope you guys broke out the popcorn to watch taco rancher fall down a pit of OCD ?
  17. Dipstick reading

Appreciate that man. I ran it for 10 minute to get coffee, took it home shut it off for about 15 and it’s reading pretty close to normal now only barely above the line. No clue dude lol. Sigh. The curse of an OCD tacoma owner. Average person would never notice or care Anyway it’s still...
  18. Dipstick reading

Exactly. I’m really not trying to split hairs. I want it to be within a range of normal. I’m wondering if the engine will just naturally burn off the excess over time if I should go back (again) to the dealer. I sent the photos by email and asked them to show to the master tech.
  19. Oil pressure gauge reading

Oh so never below? Or never above? Confused.
