  1. Dipstick reading

Exactly. The whole ā€œoh it’s fineā€ no matter what you show them is just mind numbing.
  2. Dipstick reading

Warm engine. Allowed oil to drain back into pan for 15 minutes. 2 readings showing both sides of the dip stick. For some reason one side always shows more (I assume because of engine camber).
  3. Dipstick reading

I haven’t rebuilt any engines. So I’ll take your advice. I was thinking it was too high (just drove the truck seems to bounce from about 1.8-3.2 out of 4). I’m also just frustrated that every toyota dealer is crap. I’ve got low trust based on prior experience.
  4. Dipstick reading

What’s a normal range for the oil pressure meter
  5. Dipstick reading

I did. They gave me ā€œoh it’s fineā€ routine after a 20 year old change the oil, is why I despise the dealership and why I’m going to start changing my own oil. Dealer competence is low and their give a fuck factor even lower. It should be simpler to confirm.
  6. Oil pressure gauge reading

You would think. But I’m not sure how sophisticated the electronics are for accurately measuring oil level. I also think the margin is probably crazy wide but I would rather it be correct to avoid issues
  7. Oil pressure gauge reading

You’ve never seen it reach the halfway mark? Mine is almost always 2/4 bars or 3/4 bars when accelerating or cold start. Now I’m concerned. Anyone else have some feedback?
  8. Shifting Into Reverse = Hard Shifts?

Is the new transmission otherwise good
  9. Dipstick reading

It keeps reading high. Wondering if I need to siphon. It’s about 1/8ā€ to 1/4ā€ high.
  10. Dipstick reading

It’s annoying because before the oil change I think it was reading between the lines from the factory. Oil pressure gauge seems fine. Caps out at 3/4 bars when I floor it, a little over 2 bars when coasting at steady speed, down to almost zero when hybrid turns off engine. Edit: I’m going to...
  11. Oil pressure gauge reading

I mean, load and RPM correspond somewhat but sure - high RPM and it gets to about 3/4 bars.

2500 miles - stock tires Trailhunter - if I’m in eco mode and driving gently, easily over 21 which is great for a 5400 pound fat boy
  13. Dipstick reading

It’s definitely over the second dimple no matter how I check it (though I’ve not checked it cold yet). I’ve got a siphon - should I remove some? Also, this dealership always overfills - with the last Tacoma they did the same thing and told me the machine just decides how many quarts to spit...
  14. Oil pressure gauge reading

What about high engine load ?
  15. TRD Sport with 285/70/18 BF Goodrich KO3 Tires šŸ¤˜šŸ½

On the fence between Nokian Outpost nAT 275/70/18 and 295/70/18 — they weigh 54 and 58.4 pounds, respectively. The 295s weigh less than your KO3s so they might be fine for drivability, but they will probably rub… is the ā€œrubā€
  16. TRD Sport with 285/70/18 BF Goodrich KO3 Tires šŸ¤˜šŸ½

Makes sense as you shed 5 pounds of rotational mass per tire and also lowered your torque diameter.
  17. TRD Sport with 285/70/18 BF Goodrich KO3 Tires šŸ¤˜šŸ½

    Looking sharp. Better mileage?
  18. Oil pressure gauge reading

Would you mind reporting back on this guys I have the opposite issue I think my dealer put too much oil in and now when I’m driving, it’s sort of is sitting in the middle when it used to be at a lower pressure. I believe when I floor it, it goes up to three out of four bars, what is normal?
  19. Dipstick reading

Hey guys - I had my dealer do a break in oil change and after I checked the oil level. On one side of the dipstick it was super high, but on the side it looked only a tiny bit high. I feel like a dipstick for even asking this. But is that normal? I noted this on my 22 Tacoma as well. Is it...
