I was hoping that combined city/highway number would be better!
I suspect the two to be a wash if you factor the truck having worse aerodynamics comparing it to the slightly heavier SUV.
I wish all manufactures would offer more fuel efficient options. Iām so tired of the HP/torque pissing contest and wish they would redirect priority to efficiency. Personally anything over 300 HP and 320 ft/Ibs torque in a midsize truck doesnāt impress me as much as getting 30+ MPG. I get it...
Nice! If you donāt mind me asking what career can you āslam several months of OTā and make 40k? The first 20 years of my working career I worked as much OT as possible and never made more than half that in a year of working OT. Iām 52 with 32 years in a service engineering group (steam...
I also like he matte black wheels better than the bronze ones shown on the Trailhunter at all the media events. I like the contrast of the black vs a close match with the Bronze Oxide paint.
Yeah, I hope the snorkel ends up being an option too. If itās standard that would be a tough one to remove (and costly with a new fender needed). If so Iāll likely skip the Trailhunter altogether and go for the Off-road and build from there with a crewcab/longbed.
Had to stretch out the WB for more legroom. I just wonder if they reconfigured it in a way to give enough legroom to the back seat? Still looks really tight back there!
BTW, I think it looks much better without that sport bar/rack on. I hope itās an option and not standard equipment. No...
Anyone know when an online configurator might show up? Without knowing the prices of any particular trim, configuration and option prices thereās a whole bunch of endless guessing. Iām surprised how many people are talking about ordering and ADM without knowing baseline prices?
Yeah, itās crazy to me that the Maverick seems to have more rear legroom than most of the midsize segment! Iām in a ā02 F-150 SuperCrew now (purchased new) and with full-size so big, Iām shopping for nothing but midsize crewcab longbeds. For the moment the Tacoma is my only option since the...
Amen with regards to the sport bar/rack! I wouldnāt want to pay for it either. Same can be said about the A-pillar air intake. Would love to see that as an option, not standard equipment on the Trailhunter.
Also agreed that despite the longer WB that the rear legroom is so tight!!! Could be...
I was hoping the roof rack, rock sliders, sport bar and snorkel were add on accessories to a base Trailhunter. Of those parts, the roof rack would be the only one Iād want. Iām not a fan of spending money on things I donāt want either so it boils down to final cost. You have to draw the line...
My bad⦠5.5ā was a typo. Most times when a vehicleās WB grows its to provide a larger interior space and/or to improve entry access (larger door openings). I guess I was assuming the A-pillar would move forward about 4.5ā and allow more legroom for the front and rear seats. The front seat...
Ditto for me including the long box. I wonder if the Trailhunter is shown with options (snorkel and sport bar). Iām not interested in those and would delete if possible. Boils down to price and rear seat legroom. It looks tight back there.
So where did that 5.5 inches of additional wheelbase go? I donāt see any additional room in the back seat legroom. This is the only issue I have with this new Tacomaā¦. The back seat still looks really tight to me compared to Ford and the GM twins.
Iāve driven nothing but Ford trucks the last 30 years and Iām strongly considering this Tacoma primarily because of a crewcab/longbed configuration and a hybrid option. Right now my only concern is the rear legroom and how it stacks up compared to the competition? It definitely look cramped...
Iām surprised no shade of green in the mix? While I do love the Bronze Oxide on the Trailhunter, a medium moss green metallic with the same wheels in a flat block would look amazing to my eyes. Iād opt out of the snorkel and sport rack too. That would pretty much be my dream truck.
They sure did fix the front seat height, but Iām still concerned the rear legroom is really tight like the last generation. Without numbers, Iām not sure, but it appears Ford and the GM twins have more rear legroom?
No green exterior color? I do like the color of the Trailhunter, but a moss green with those wheels in black would look amazing. And wonder if you can delete the snorkel and sport bar? Hopefully theyāre options I could skip on a build? Otherwise a sweet truck.
While they fixed the seat...
This Tacoma looks great and checks a bunch of my boxes, but honestly I like the 6G Ranger interior better. Iām not a fan of the screen looking like it got slapped onto the dash with double back sticky tape. The Ranger screen looks more integrated into the dash and I like the large vents...
I have driven a friendās bone stock ā17 crewcab/short bed when it was less than a year old on a MTB road trip to the NC mountains. I thought the ride was fair, drivetrain sluggish and the cab cramped compared to rest of the segment with only the Nissan worse. Wanted something new, I again...
