FWIW, I had an alignment done at one shop, then went to a dealer to have some other service done and they put the alignment sensors on the wheels as they usually do and told me it was out.
So I'm always skeptical of those little machines they use at the dealership.
My average highway speed is around 88 mph, so I'm sitting at about a 18.9/19.0 average mpg over 3800 miles. When i get a full tank it's usually reading ~290 miles to E
Yep, I've thought this since day one.
Haven't found any replacements yet, but haven't looked too much into it either.
I'd definitely be interested in getting something brighter
Just for reference - I seem to have gotten lucky and purchased a 3TM off of a lot and have had zero issues in 3 months/4000 miles. No promises of not having issues, but nothing so far.
I'd be curious to know the first 3 VIN digits of the affected trucks to see which plant they're coming out of - kinda have a hunch, but would be interesting to see.
Radar detectors definitely pick up laser. I've had mine alert to laser numerous times. And unless you're in a small town where they regularly use the older K band, the majority of hits I have is KA band.
I have.
I used the powered rear view mirror to tap in to. Blue wire to the power mirror is your ACC wire, otherwise the other one (sorry I forgot the other color, may be red) is constant on.
Having my windshield replaced this week and finally getting it all set after that. Just experimented...
In regards to lowering the rails:
OEM - Yes, they are lowered. But I can access the power outlet as normal.
MX4 - IIRC they updated to where you don't have to lower them.
