More than likely talking about the digital rear view mirror that uses a camera that is on top of the cab. This only comes with the premium upgrade. If you have the Offroad upgrade, you don't have this. Just the rear backup camera that is on the tailgate.
If the housing doesn't come out, it's probably less than $10 to replace, so not a big deal.
The sensor itself clips in to the housing, so it's not like I glued the sensor permanently into the bumper.
Just an FYI for an issue that I had to deal with earlier. The two (that I know of) rear parking alert sensors in the plastic bumper are only secured to the bumper with double-sided tape (think command strip material).
I had to rip the plastic housing out and epoxy it into the bumper. Toyota...
First time truck owner here. Generally type in complete sentences with punctuation.
I'll take my truck off road and do truck things with it too, but I also want some modern day luxuries. This ain't the 70s boomer, we live better than that now with a whole lot more technology.
Plus I paid 50k...
Having mine replaced next week (after almost two months of waiting for the windshield). Elected not to use Safelite since I'm paying out of pocket and they were almost 2k for a replacement.
I've had a few windshields replaced through them, but would much rather go with a local company.
The TPMS sensor seems to be the most common data point that continually disappears. So I would say yea, if you take that out you should be good. There may be others that really don't get any attention though.
Mine only seems to do it with TPMS - and that seems to be the theme.
I feel bad for you guys. I picked my OR w/upgrade up at a dealership that had it in stock.
Wife's transmission died in her RAV, so it was an unexpected thing. Saw the OR online and went and bought it same week.

It's for the Bakflip, but I don't think you would have an issue installing it to the OEM.
I'm ordering it mainly for the corner caps so that the adhesive doesn't start to peel up on the rails.
Got the part #s for what I was looking for from the NC dealer and just ordered them through my local dealer. Apparently that 20% is Toyota-wide, or at least the dealer in UT is participating as well.
Was $600 in shipping from NC ?
I wouldn't mind picking up a set of the cast aluminum running boards and TRD skid plate. Just didn't k ow if it was worth it since I've had issues trying to ship other things.
